About this deal

Starting with a pretty obvious one here… the Specialiast Mob rules state that the units they are used on lose their keyword, replacing it their new Specialist Mob keyword – whatever that may be.

Orks codex (almost) all leaked : r/WarhammerCompetitive - Reddit Orks codex (almost) all leaked : r/WarhammerCompetitive - Reddit

This was already true, but they’ve added the [Aura] tag to Dok’s Toolz on Painboyz and Mad Dok Grotsnik. It’d be cool if they could do this more comprehensively on older abilities just for completeness’ sake, but we suspect those older auras will go un-edited. The Snagged Ability on Kill Rigs and Hunta Rigs was fixed Trukk boyz can now finally ride in Trukks! In fact, so can all SPECIALIST MOB INFANTRY, which is good news for Boom Boyz Tankbustas and Pyromaniac Burna Boyz too. Units with more than one model can’t be given a Kustom Job with the Mekboy Workshop The Forgeworld FAQ has removed the WARBOSS keyword from the unit, causing it only be able to declare SPEED WAAAGHS. The biggest change here is the loss of the WARBOSS keyword – they’re now only a SPEEDBOSS, meaning they no longer have access to WAAAGH! and SPEEDWAAAGH!. Additionally, their rules were cleaned up – they’ve lost Mob Rule and Dakka! Dakka! Dakka!, neither of which still had any meaning, and gained Big Red Button and Dead Tough from the Wartrike datasheet. So while they’ve lost their ability to flex on WAAAGH! (a serious blow), they have gained a 5+ invulnerable save and the ability to auto-advance 6″. Not the best tradeoff, but it’s not nothing, either. Mek Boss Guzznob also got some big changesThis one’s a little surprising and we wouldn’t be surprised to see it get another look in the future. As worded in the book, I’ve Got a Plan Ladz referred to the “Deploy Forces” step, which doesn’t exist, and has been errataed to happen “At the end of the Deploy Armies step”, which is a valid wording and the minimum sensible FAQ to apply here. All well and good – but it leaves this ability functioning differently and significantly less effectively than other pre-game redeploys such as Poisoned Tongue’s Insidious Misdirection (which happens at the start of the first Battle Round) and Foretelling of Locus (which happens “After both players have deployed their armies”). You might think that latter one is the same, but thanks to a previous Rare Rule (“ AT THE START OF, DURING AND AFTER DEPLOYMENT“) it isn’t – abilities worded like that explicitly happen in step 13 of the pre-game (crucially after the first turn roll-off, which is step 12), but IGaPL is now pinned to the end of step 11, which makes it way worse.

40k FAQ Hot Take: Codex Orks | Goonhammer

Q: Hotly debated, but can Trukk Boyz move and advance after disembarking from a Trukk that has moved? Rules state that units that disembark can act normally, but also that Embarked units count as having made the same move as the transport.– Myles which honestly I wouldn’t blame anyone saying indicates how Kill Saws should be ruled. However this would be applying an FAQ for a different faction, from a different edition, to a 9th Edition codex. Also Trygon Scything Talons are extra weird in being a singular weapon that only comes in pairs, of which the model can take 3 pairs. Mek Gunz, Killa Kans, and I think all of the Ork Aircraft meet the ORKS VEHICLE requirement for this boost, regardless of the fact that they’re not particularly speedy. It’s not just the slow Gretchin stuff either, even the big stompy Ork stuff benefits like well Stompa, as well as most of their heavy support units. What about Open-Topped Units and their passengers? I’m going to preface this with a note that, to my understanding, the community is almost evenly split on this issue. We’re so close to the Open-Topped rules being “good” and consistent and it’s really just this last hurdle. I think even my colleagues at Goonhammer HQ are split on how this should be resolved. So what follows is my preferred interpretation, but I could be wrong. Does the Trukk Boyz Modifier apply to the Trukk Boyz when embarked?the subtle part is that embarked units only count as having done the move the transport did, while embarked. Something that was pointed out pretty early on with the new book as an issue, you can no longer use Character Gretchin as your Grot Shield. Specifically, this means you can’t use Makari, with his 2+ invulnerable save and 4 wounds, as a Grot Shield, and can’t set up a sitation where the Grot isn’t shootable because of Look Out Sir while protecting another unit. Monster Hunterz now ends at the end of the phase Codex Orks is in the somewhat unusual position where we’ve already seen some of its toys in action, with some tournaments letting players make use of the new book ahead of the main release. With that in mind, here are five things we’ve learned about the Codex since we wrote our initial review. Another weird one, since Blitza-Bommers don’t have any weapons with the Blast ability to be affected by the Boom Boyz rule, and now that particular issue has been fixed. You can continue not fielding Blitza-Bommers. Extra-Kustom Weapons now limited to Meks, Big Meks, and Spanners

Wayland Games

This actually resolves two issues that the rule had. Aircraft are not exempt from the effect entirely, so no more wondering what happens if they can’t make their minimum moves. However also it removes a secondary issue where it could use a combination of charging, piling in and consolidating to end up in a position where the snagged unit couldn’t possibly end a move within 12″ because it was too far away. Now the effect ends of the Kill Rig moves for any reason. Squigbosses are Absolute Nightmares. Beast Snaggas have had a somewhat slow start thanks to not all their kits being available yet, but many events have been allowing converted Squigbosses, who have leapt straight into the pantheon of nastiest herohammer units in the game. Many players have landed on either a tanky build that combines the Beasthide Mantle and ‘Ard as Nails or gone for an unstoppable killing machine with Brutal but ‘Kunnin and Headwoppa’s Killchoppa (the latter sometimes swapped for the Mantle for more of an all-rounder).

Same as it ever was. The interaction between Goffs’ No Mukkin’ About and the Brutal But Kunnin’ Warlord Trait were clarified My personal recommendation would be that the second effect doesn’t work whilst embarked; it blurs the line about if the model is on the battlefield too much in my opinion. Who is affected by Cloud of Smoke?
