About this deal

To test TV wall mounts, we had to mount some actual TVs. It seems obvious, but not all guides you read online will have done it. Some of the wall mounts here were tested in the TechRadar offices, drilling into a wall and then simply going through the process of the instructions. Most were handled by two people, but occasionally a third person was needed. Design: A TV wall mount needs to be inconspicuous to get the right effect and Mounting Dream has done well to make sure this keeps a low profile. It's only 60cm long and 40cm tall so doesn't take up too much wall space to secure it either. It can tilt but with a radius of just eight degrees, it's more suited for a fixed wall position. Vivo electric ceiling mount specs: Weight limit: 110 pounds | Size limit: 40 - 85 inches | Motion: Articulating | Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor | Dimensions: 22.8 x 19.7 x 4.4-30 inches (4.4-inch profile when folded) | VESA compatibility: 200x100, 200x200, 200x400, 300x200, 300x300, 400x200, 400x300, 400x400, 600x400, 800x400 But affordability isn't the only benefit to mounting your TV. You can also get improvements in ergonomics, overall picture quality and even safety, all with relatively easy installation that you can do in an afternoon. Value: We chose the most affordable models that include everything you need to install and enjoy your new wall-mounted television.

If you’ve got a small TV or a computer monitor, you can mount that too, clearing valuable desktop space or just to keep it out of the way when you’re not using it. The Peerless AV Full-Motion TV Wall Mount ETA100 is perfect for screens ranging from 10 to 29 inches. The single-arm articulating design lets you extend out to 12.7 inches from the wall and retracts to just 2.6 inches. You can move the mount around 90 degrees and tilt it 15 degrees to get a better viewing angle. And it’s very affordable for the quality. We tested these using typical TVs, including both small-sized and big-sized TVs (between 32- and 65-inches), and nailed it down to a final list that we're willing to stand by. Rest assured we've mounted each one of these ourselves and have a wall full of holes to prove it. Each TV wall mount has been measured against its ease of installation, build quality, design and value, and given a score based on its performance. Echogear EGLF2 specs - Weight limit: 125 pounds | Size limit: 42 - 90 inches | Motion: Full-motion | Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor | Dimensions: 31 x 13 x 3.5 inches | VESA compatibility: 200x100, 200x200, 300x200, 300x300, 400x200, 400x300, 400x400, 500x400, 600x400 But you're going to need plenty of space if you plan on buying one. How much space do I need for a 70-inch TV?

Mount-It! RV TV mount

Design:Despite the fact that this TV wall mount has an extendable arm, it doesn't sit too far away from the wall and has a large plate that attaches to the TV to make it feel secure. The PSSFK1 also doesn't come with any cable management, which means you'll have to organize some ties yourself to tidy away any dangling wires. Brands such as Philips, however, offer a huge amount of value, solid performance and some interesting functions and features at a fraction of the cost of its competitors. Can a 70-inch TV be mounted? Better aesthetics: A wall-mounted TV just looks nice, and can help make your home theater setup look more professional, more put together. And if you do a full installation, with cables run behind drywall, it looks a lot cleaner, too. (Don't worry, you can get a similar effect by hiding the cables behind a neutral colored cable run.)

There are four main types of TV wall mounts: fixed, tilting, full-motion and corner. Choosing one comes down to where you're planning to mount your TV, as that will decide whether you need it to simply be hung on the wall or if you require it to be adaptable to a changing space. The best TV wall mounts can elevate your home theater, giving you that cinematic huge-screen-floating-on-the-wall feeling. You'll need one that you can trust will hold up that big-sized TV – or small-sized TV if you're in a tight space – you've no doubt just paid a lot of money for, but you'll also want it to be simple and straightforward to install. Build quality: With a premium price, you'd expect premium build quality and thankfully with the VMF720 you get it. It feels tough and well-supported, even when the arm is fully extended, meaning you won't have to worry when the TV is corner mounted. You have multiple devices connected to your TV: Without any cable management, you won't be able to hide any wires away without investing in some ties yourself.A TV mount that is budget-friendly. The single-stud wall plate gives you plenty of placement options for your TV or computer monitor. Sanus VLF728-S2 specs - Weight limit: 125 pounds | Size limit: 42 - 90 inches | Motion: Full-motion | Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor | Dimensions: 33.8 x 17.68 x 2.15 inches | VESA compatibility: 100x100 minimum, 600x400 maximum Of course, this mount is designed for very specific screen sizes, so if you have something larger than 29 inches, this isn’t the mount for you. And 12.7 inches of extension may not be far enough, depending on your set up. How to choose the best TV mount for you You have very high ceilings: If you need a TV wall mount that has a very wide tilt to reach a very angled seating position, then this might not be right. So, if your result is 100 mm across and 100 mm high your VESA is 100 x 100 mm. Common sizes are 200 x 200, 400 x 400 and 600 x 400, but every telly is different.

This motorized TV mount from Vivo is an almost-perfect solution for finding the right spot for your TV. It mounts to your ceiling joists, which frees up wall and floor space and gives you plenty of placement options; which is great for smaller spaces like bedrooms or apartments. You have a larger sized TV: With a maximum size compatibility of 55 inches, those with a larger TV will have to look elsewhere. With one of our wall mounts for your 70 inch TV, you can make the most of the space around your TV. By mounting it on the wall, you create more space in the room and can position your TV optimally. With their elegant design, our mounts fit seamlessly into any living space and enhance its appearance. Vogel's TV mounts - Easy installation and secure mounting of 70 inchFirst, consider your TV's size, keeping in mind that TV's are classified by diagonal screen length. With several styles of TV mounts to choose from, your next choice is whether you want one that’s fixed (no movement); tilts; or uses an articulated arm (extends and can swivel). Fixed mounts tend to have the lowest profile, meaning the TV will be closest to the wall. This can make it challenging to get to ports unless the TV mount has a way to release the TV from the mount for access. Tilting TV mounts can be great for angling a TV for better viewing. Articulated TV mounts give you a lot of flexibility, with arms that both extend and swivel, allowing you to position the TV for the best viewing angle. The key benefit they offer over tilting and full motion alternatives is that, once fixed, they keep your television very close to the wall itself, keeping cable clutter to a minimum and offering a more streamlined aesthetic. Tilting Alternatives You can't call upon a few hands to help out: This is only an issue when uninstalling the TV wall mount because you need a third person to pull the release straps. A word of caution: we couldn't test these on every type of wall. In general, that shouldn't matter to their overall sturdiness, if they're fixed well – but fixing them well is on you. Read the instructions carefully and get an installer in if you're in any doubt about your wall's ability to hold a heavy TV!
