Rather than feeling like a fun arcade experience, it feels more like a broken version of the core game packed with planned exploits and glitches. In Season 1 of post-launch content, Superstar KO added college football rules, with players choosing a team and offensive and defensive playbooks on top of the traditional Superstar KO rules and teams from the mode at launch. The idea is that a little momentum meter will tick up whenever a team makes a big play, unlocking perks like stamina boosts while potentially scrambling your opponent’s playart and causing the screen to shake. The talent tree is often split in certain areas, making you choose a specific path of perks for your particular coach or coordinator.One particular celebration that stands out is of the QB trying to high five his team mates and everyone ignores him. The presentation, both audio and visual would be important, but that’s a single-player story experience that fans would enjoy. The impact of the story choices you do get to make, such as when you talk to scouts before the Draft, are hazy at best.
