About this deal

The Reebok Nano X3 will work best for athletes and lifters who like to blend multiple workout modalities together on a weekly basis. For example, the Nano X3 was stable enough for 500 lbs deadlifts, but also responsive enough for fast 800-1,600-meter runs which can make it a viable option for things like HYROX. For OG Nano fans who loved the Nano X models and below, I’m not sure you’ll resonate with the Nano X3 as they feel more like the X2. The ROPEPRO feature that often had durability issues in the Reebok Nano X1 and Nano X2 has also been reworked. The Nano X3’s ROPEPRO+ outsole wrap now sits more flush with the midsole and upper which I’m hoping helps with durability. The Flexweave upper allows for breathability yet a good hold in the toebox. The heel cup grabs your Achilles and you know a good shoe is on your foot. For the first workout, it was leg day. Comparing and contrasting gym shoes is sort of my thing, so to see which sneaker slid into the pole position this year, I donned each silhouette for multiple weeks across a number of training disciplines. From free weight lifts like squats and deadlifts to CrossFit-centric movements and plyometrics, varying running routes and more, I put both the Metcon 8s and Nano X3s to the test to see which brand delivered the goods. Outside of training performance, I also noted other key qualities like durability, comfort and (of course) style.

If you have additional sizing and fit questions about the Nano X3 or want a video of how they compare to the Nano X2s before investing in them, please don’t hesitate to reach out and I can try to help you out accordingly. Price Assessment According to a press release, the heel clip has been updated on the Nano X3, as has the heel shape. Reebok calls the shape of the heel cup “sleek” although I can’t say I noticed much of a difference between the X3s and X2s. Toe Box For daily wear, the Nano X3 does an okay job, but I think this is an area where the Nano X2 actually has a small edge. Since this model’s upper runs a little more snug, I find the Nano X2 to be a little more comfortable for all-day wear. While the Reebok Nano X3 hasn’t received a complete construction overhaul like many expected, there are a few key changes to note in this model. Below, I’ve provided a specs list in addition to five key changes to note. The first thing to like about the Reebok Nano X3 is its range of performance. I like how well-rounded this model is and that it performed well for the wide range of training tasks I’ve thrown at it.

In testing, I was thoroughly pleased with the level of stability found in both the Metcon 8s and Nano X3s. In the Nikes, the React Foam midsole provided that perfect blend of rigidity and coziness that’s made it a go-to for many athletes throughout the years. In the case for Reebok, I enjoyed the rigidity displayed across the new chassis system, and the Floatride Energy foam gave a nice blend of cushioning without creating too much plush. The main changes from X2 to X3 are the unisex sizing, the L.A.R. Chassis in the midsole, and updated tread pattern. Otherwise, the shoes are pretty much the same—similar upper, similar lacing system, similar tongue, similar rope guard, and similar overall shape. When unboxing the shoe I was blown away by the styling. A very aesthetic and quality looking platform. Despite liking the Reebok Nano X3, there are a couple of contexts where I think this shoe will fall short. 1. If you like lower heel-to-toe drops I also enjoyed how grippy the outsole is for multi-directional work and actually think this model is a little more grippy than the outsole used on the Nano X1 and Nano X2. When doing sharp cuts and acceleration work on turf, I have yet to experience slip issues.

They are stable to workout in but they do have a solid cushioning system to last without your feet hurting. I would really like them to lower the price a bit so more people could enjoy them but overall my experience with them were great.I also like that Reebok fixed the rope climbing durability issue in this model. If you’re wanting the Nano X3 primarily for CrossFit, then I think you’ll enjoy the performance of this shoe and it should last a lot longer than the X1 and X2 for this training context. Who Shouldn’t Buy the Reebok Nano X3? They are very stylish and trendy like most shoes these days yet comfortable enough to wear all day at the zoo without wanting to rip them off. A dome TPU piece in the heel hardens under heavy loads for added stability when lifting and then softens when not under load. The dome is surrounded by Floatride Energy Foam for extra responsiveness and cushioning for running and jumping. Additionally, a TPU plate is connected to the dome for added lateral and torsional support and forefoot propulsion.” Outsole For additional sizing context, the width remains unchanged in this model compared to the X2, however, you will feel like it fits a little snugger due to the upper. For most lifters, I don’t think this will be a huge issue or concern. For example, if you regularly train in barefoot shoes or models like the STR/KE MVMNT Haze Trainer which has a higher degree of sole flexibility, then you may find the Nano X3 to feel like “too much shoe” for your preferences. 3. Sole Runs a Little Stiff At First

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed the ebb and flow of the Reebok Nano cross-training shoe line. I thought the Reebok Nano X2 was a step in a good direction for the Nano line despite it having a few shortcomings. The ROPEPRO+ feels studier and its density is pretty noticeable. I’m excited to test this feature more to see if Reebok was able to solve the rope climbing durability issue with the past couple of Reebok Nanos. 5. Reworked Heel Shape and Clip

Is the Reebok Nano X3 good for weight lifting?

New and improved” is sort of an understatement when it comes to the Nano X3. Thanks to a reworked FlexWeave upper and innovative Lift and Run Chassis System, this latest iteration is quite different from previous profiles. For one, the upper has a more rigid feel to it that doesn’t stretch as much over extended use. This helps create a more secure setup that can keep your feet contained whether just starting a program or wrapping up a routine. Now for running I wouldn’t suggest these shoes. For short little sprints or box jumps the lift and run chassis design is comfortable and gives you cushion but the shoe is overall too heavy and not shaped correctly to run any sort of distance. To discuss the performance of the Reebok Nano X3, I tried to take these shoes through a wide range of workouts. I tested this model for heavier weight training, CrossFit, and versatile training, and have used them for short runs. For versatile training including athletic-style sessions, HIIT, and short runs, I thought the Floatride Energy Foam did a pretty good job of providing a good level of responsiveness despite being a more stable cross-training shoe. The Nano X3’s Flexweave upper hugs the foot a little tighter and it gives this model a truer fit, so if you often felt like you were swimming in the Nano X2 then you should be in the camp that enjoys this change.
