About this deal

Step 4. The cube with the perimeter that equals the nozzle diameter is the lowest usable flow. Expect flows around 35-50%. Following the success of our in-house produced PolyAir 1.0 focused on improving the toughness of single-wall printed RC models, we’re presenting the PolyLight 1.0– The active foaming lightweight LW-PLA material. Depending on hotend temperature, the material increases its volume more than twice during extrusion resulting in very lightweight parts. Suitable especially for smaller models and parts where strength is not so critical. PLA is a renewable, biodegradable form of plastic. In contrast to other plastics that are made from non-renewable resources like petroleum, PLA is a type of plastic that is biodegradable because it is made from organic material like corn starch and sugarcane. While petroleum-based plastics can take hundreds or thousands of years to break down, PLA plastic takes a mere six months to two years to break down. It is also relatively cheap to produce. Nozzle diameter – 0.4mm Step 1. Print cubes at a set speed in temperatures varying from 200°C up to 280°C

You need to print at very high temperature to achieve light weight results (~250˚), these high temperatures will create a lot of defects on the print such as stringing and blobs.

ColorFabb uses the following 4-step process to determine the maximum extent at a given speed, temperature and flow. We chose to make the material in light grey colour, that’s the most universal base colour for painting. Models printed in light grey are not translucent and therefore it’s easier to create a good-looking scale paint job. Parts can be easily sanded to make a nice surface finish. High quality and eco friendly Colorfabbs Light weight PLA (LW-PLA) is the best filament for printing RC Planes, Cosplay and other lightweight items. Parts are feather-light, yet retain good strength and are easy to cut, trim and sand. If part weight matters to you, then this is your filament of choice.

Materials that can be used for 3D printing include plastics, metal (such as stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and even gold), resins, powders, graphite and graphine, and paper. We are assuming you are interested in working with plastic in particular. At colorFabb material development never stops. We’re starting 2019 with a fascinating new material, first of its kind in FFF 3D printing materials. PolyLight 1.0 is recommended especially for our LW Planes models designed to be printed in single-pass (vase) mode with reduced travel moves but used wisely it can also be used as a complement to the PolyAir to improve the wing loading of any of our models. For example, every gram saved on tail parts counts more than twice in the need to balance the model improving weight distribution. Cost-effective Note that some brands develop high temperatures when mixed together, which may have an effect on your 3D printer glue and the PLA you are using Heat can, however, be managed by using a product that has a slower curing process. Test print to confirm calculated values. Adjust the flow setting until the part has the strength you need.
