About this deal

First, you’re going to resize the dragon of your choice so that it will fit inside a mason jar (either smaller or larger, totally up to you). Colouring is a great way to keep children's minds active and busy, and they won't even realise they are working because it's such fun! If you're in search of a few more excellent colouring sheets that should be easy to obtain for classroom use, here are some choices that might be useful for you:

Is it a figment of your imagination, or a narwhal in disguise? Either way, a mystical unicorn is always fun to colour in. They will then paste the cupcake liners on a piece of construction paper, starting with one upside down and then the next right-side up. You can use my dragon pictures as posters to hang in their room (framed or unframed), cut out multiples, and use the figures to make a dragon collage. Finally, they will punch holes on either side of the dragon’s head and tie off pieces of string, yarn, or ribbon, enough to meet behind their heads and be tied into a bow. 14. Cupcake Liner Dragon Down at the bottom of the garden, hiding under a patch of mushrooms, you'll find this collection of adorable fairies.

To focus on the natural world, try this Butterfly Role Play Mask Colouring Sheet, which challenges the class to decorate an illustration of a beautiful butterfly. Once you've created, coloured and designed your own dragons, you could take things a step further with this Design a Dragon Egg Template Worksheet. Not only can they be decorated with patterns and colour, but they're also great for story writing inspiration, just like our dragons.

Another of the colouring sheets shows an illustration based on traditional Chinese Dragon Colouring Pictures, and the other shows a Chinese Dragon decoration being used in a celebration. As you can see from this easy Chinese dragon colouring sheet, Chinese dragons are typically more snake-like than other dragons. They often have long, windy bodies with relatively small limbs and no wings, although they can still fly. Have them scour fantasy magazines or even print off pictures from the Internet to complete their collage, then hang them in a prominent place in their room. 5. Suncatchers You could shrink them down, laminate them and use them as cupcake toppers, or add a notecard and have them identify the food options. 9. Bookmarks Once the dragons are all filled in, cut them out of the transparency paper and poke a hole near the top. Parts of a Lizard Differentiated Activity Sheet - This set of three differentiated worksheets is perfect for teaching children to describe the structure of this reptile. Children label and describe the different parts of a lizard, either matching or writing their own descriptions.

A beautiful craft for older kids (who have perfected their fine motor skills), you’ll need a lot of sequins – and a lot of patience! Then you’re going to cut along the swirl; the paper plate should bottom out to create a long, swirly body. Finally, you’re going to fit a battery-powered, remote-controlled tea light inside the toilet paper roll. Generally, a dragon’s eye will be bright and shiny with a slit for a pupil. They could be pretty much any colour you want, but yellow or orange always makes a brilliant impact. The edge of the one that is right-side up will just touch the middle of the liner that’s upside down, and then they’ll continue to place the liners like so.

How fast can Komodo dragons run?

To make this fun little craft, you’ll have to resize the dragon illustrations so that the heads will fit approximately a spring clothespin. Using contrasting colours can be a really powerful way to make your dragon stand out – think of a dark, midnight blue dragon with a fiery ball of orange erupting from his jaws. Create a story for your dragon of Australia's Most Dangerous Snakes Fact Cards - These Australian Animals fact cards are a great way to help children to learn about Australia's dangerous snakes. Great for use alongside a native Australian animal topic.

Because of this, in recent years some families in China have purposely planned to have a child during the Chinese Year of the Dragon. This is done in the belief that their child will be endowed with these traits and will therefore be more likely to be successful in life.

Your kids can color in or decorate the body however they want; they’ll also color in and cut out the dragon’s head and tail from one of my pictures. Then the kids will color in the head and tail of the dragon and cut those out; have them paste the pieces down onto the D, with the head near the top and the tail near the bottom.
