Tales of music and the music industry have always fascinated me and this book is one of the best musician autobiographies I've ever read. Loved this Audio book - With the author narrating his words this recording really brings home the sincerity and emotion intended. I made the mistake of putting it down for a couple weeks and by the time I was able to come back to it, I only got through a couple pages before realizing I was no longer interested. My father flew solo for the first time on his sixteenth birthday, the earliest he could get a pilot’s license.

Two songs that were on constant repeat on my old orange iPod Nano in high school were "Take Your Mama" and "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" by the Scissor Sisters. I enjoyed this because in some way i related to Spears growing up and being bullied and the struggles he faced, but i also feel like at times this book dragged on and was boring but i would still recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the scissor sisters! I own their albums and even saw their show once when they toured, so I considered myself a fan (a fairly casual one), but even my familiarity with the group didn't make me love this book. I stepped into a sunset-kissed Union Square in destroyed black cowboy boots and a Heatherette tie-dyed hoodie with Amanda Lepore’s face stenciled on the front.From his childhood on an island to finding fame with The Scissor Sisters, you can’t help but be drawn into the book. For example, they’d tell me I’d been found on the side of the road as a baby because some woman was trying to give me away. It always plunked on the ground yards away from me, like a dead shooting star, its flame long extinguished.
