About this deal

As with any electrical items, it’s particularly important to study the quality of a product before you buy it. This is especially important for Headphones. But when we’re buying online, what can be done to get an idea of a product’s quality? Comfort is similar to that of a fairly well-designed on-ear pair of headphones. The Positive Vibration 2 Wireless’s headband is mid-level firm to help them stay on your head, and the padding consists of a couple of inches of leatherette-topped foam.

The earpad cushions are covered by soft faux leather, and even the cables are braided in fabric with considerable strain relief. Positive Vibration XL are well-built, sturdy headphones with stainless steel and aluminum construction that folds. They feel nice in the hands and show no signs of weakness except the limited flexibility of the headband. You can fold them up to carry them around with you more easily, although they don’t come with a case or pouch to put them in. They’re also not waterproof so you’ll have to be careful if you have them out in the rain. The Positive Vibration XL are one of the best wireless headphones for the price right now. Well built, reliable, with excellent battery performance and high sound quality. Positive Vibration XL create a great first impression once you take them in your hands. You can feel the quality materials, they fit comfortably, and sound balanced with details. You should still expect the standard range of around 30ft (10m), which is plenty anyways. Bluetooth connection is one of the strongest we’ve seen. Setting yourself a budget will really help you to narrow down your search. It can also help you to avoid the slippery slope of buying a really expensive product that perhaps had advanced specifications that you didn’t need or couldn’t actually afford. There’s a newer model with ANC that was released after our test. It’s the same headphones with the addition of active noise cancellation. They look the same except for the Marley logo in shiny silver.

The mic offers poor intelligibility. Using the Voice Memos app on an iPhone 8, we could understand every word we recorded, and the mic signal itself is fairly strong, but the Bluetooth distortion is bad, making it hard to discern between some sounds. Most Bluetooth headphones have weak mic clarity, but this mic is notably bad. Conclusions AWARD WINNING MARLEY SOUND - These T3 Platinum and Best on Test Award winning headphones are made from widely recyclable aluminium and FSC Certified Wood. Incorporating 2 x large 50mm aperture drivers, providing exceptional clarity throughout an extended frequency range. Superior sound… sustainably crafted There are some higher-end touches, too. The cups are aluminium, not plastic, and the headband padding is topped with fabric rather than synthetic leather or plastic. This is a classic Marley tactic, using materials with a bit more texture than most. It’s really good at this stage to spend some time just getting an idea of the sort of price you can expect to pay for your Headphones. When you’re spent a bit of time looking at the prices, consider setting yourself a budget.EXTENDED PLAY TIME BATTERY LIFE - With an average of up to 12 hours of play/talk time, Positive Vibration 2 Wireless will keep you connected throughout the day and in to the evening. Battery running low whilst you’re out and about? No problem. Enjoy the convenience of a removable tangle-free braided cable, so you can plug right in and carry on listening until you’re able to recharge It’s the same as with other built-in mics. You can hold a normal phone conversation in a quiet room, but in louder places, it becomes unusable. The headphones come with all the usual features of Bluetooth headphones. You get reliable wireless connection, LED battery indicator, built-in controls, and microphone, plus fast charging and in-line controls when need be.

If you want wireless over-ear headphones to use on the go, then these are perfect since they’re collapsible, and they fit tightly on the head (they stay on during movement). Also, the LED indicator tells you the battery level, it blinks when the headphones are on, and when you put them in pairing mode. There’s some heft to them, probably due to the metal construction. The outside earcups are polished plastics with wooden emblems that give off a premium feel. Metal hinges swivel and fold the cups offering confidence in their design. If noise-cancelling is a must-have feature and you don’t mind spending a little more, then take a look at the JBL Tune 660NC. They have detailed, punchy sound and fantastic noise-cancelling to match. The House of Marley Positive Vibration 2 Wireless are some of the best on-ear headphones you’ll find at the price. Though you have to know a couple of things. The ear cups aren’t the biggest. You can get bigger in other over-ears. Bass is better in those other pairs, too. The House of Marley Positive Vibration 2 Wireless aren’t bass-light, but they don’t have the low-end impact of a set that can really start a party. Even so, the soundstage is pretty tiny for over-ears. You don’t get the same spacious sound as with some other higher-end headphones.
