Halloween: Nightdance issue titles and descriptions". Halloween Comics. Archived from the original on 2011-02-04 . Retrieved 2008-04-06. Many versions of the original Halloween as well as several of its sequels have been released on DVD and Blu-ray by Anchor Bay Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Dimension Films. In December 2007, there were reports that the Producer's Cut of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers might get a DVD release in the future. [131] [132] Halloween H20: 20 Years Later ignores the events that transpire after the second film and opens twenty years after the events of the first two films and establishes that Michael Myers ( Chris Durand) has been missing since the explosion in 1978. Laurie Strode (Curtis) has faked her own death so that she could go into hiding from her brother. Now working as the headmistress of a private school under the name Keri Tate, Laurie continues to live in fear of Michael's return. Her son, John ( Josh Hartnett), attends the same school. Laurie's fear becomes reality when Michael shows up at the school and begins killing John's friends. Laurie manages to get John and his girlfriend ( Michelle Williams) to safety but decides to face Michael once and for all. After a long fight, Laurie decapitates Michael with a fire axe, finally killing him. [14] Halloween: The Inside Story Premiere Date Set!". DreadCentral. 29 November 2012. Halloween 25 Years of Terror was the brainchild of Trancas International Films, the production company behind the Halloween franchise. The event was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Halloween film. The idea was to bring together fans of the franchise and the horror genre to celebrate Halloween in a unique and memorable way. Dressed in funeral finery, this horrific multi-media scrapbook is a 'thank you' to fans while also serving as a comprehensive retrospective of the entire Halloween series, examining through interviews, convention footage, panel discussions, stills, and montages various elements of the franchise. Just about everything you could think of is covered in this 2 disc collection, from the initial inspiration of the premise and the aesthetic evolution of the series to the public response and continuing misfires/innovations. Of course the most satisfying feature of both the documentary and extras are the insightful interviews, which come across as both intimate and frank. These, along with a general air of discovery, instil knowledge without lecturing, helping the entire production feel more like an informal discussion than a scholarly dissection. And with that, we reach the halfway point of the documentary. There’s a short piece about when fans become fanatics and some psychoanalysis behind Halloween‘s appeal, and before you know it, five years have passed and we’re being subjected to Part 6 aka Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. I doubt there’s a Halloween follower anywhere who doesn’t know the sad tale behind this debacle. Whether you watch the theatrical release or the infamous producer’s cut, it’s all pretty bad. As far as I’m concerned, this installment is notable only for the fact that it marks Donald Pleasence’s final onscreen performance. RIP, Dr. Loomis; may the cinema gods ensure that no fresh-faced WB star attempts to fill your shoes in the inevitable remake. The next two panels — one with Ellie Cornell and the other with seven of the guys who have played Michael Myers — are definitely among my favorite features in the set. Ellie proved herself to be very sweet, funny, and, most important to fans, respectful of the series. All seven Shapes were quite humble and gracious to each other and the fans. They reminisced about their favorite kills and provided the best photo op of the Convention: giving the much beloved head tilt while standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Awesome! Essentially viewing for fans? Not really, but it's harmless enough if only for the Danielle Harris interviews. The making of Halloween 25 Years of Terror was a challenging and exciting process. The event was held in 2003 at the Pasadena Convention Center and featured a variety of attractions, including a museum of Michael Myers memorabilia, a Halloween-themed carnival, and a panel discussion with the cast and crew of the original film. The documentary tells the entire tale of the eight-film (so far) series using literally dozens of interviews with practically everyone ever associated with a Halloween film. It also takes advantage of elaborate Halloween- themed fan conventions that prove the films' popularity among young horror devotées. They provide plenty of eccentric behaviors, as when bus tours of the first film's South Pasadena locations are met with re-creations of famous scenes performed by local high school students. Is "Halloween: A Cut Above The Rest" actually the TV version or have I been supplied the wrong disc? Just to confuse things further, it seems as though the rest of the extras listed above are actually presented on the third disc. Its really confusing! Unless I'm mistaken, I thought A Cut Above The Rest was supposed to be a documentary? I put the disc in my player and got no option for the rest of the extras listed above, and the only option I had was to play the TV version of the film!Kevin Powers (2008-11-03). In 1983, Wizard Video, who had also released a video game version of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, released a Halloween game for the Atari 2600. In the game, the player is a babysitter who has to protect her children from Michael Myers, who has managed to get inside the house. Although the game is called Halloween, and features the film's theatrical poster as its cover art as well as the movie's main music theme, the game itself never refers to any characters, including the killer, by their names in the film.
