About this deal

You can use any yarn and crochet hook combination that gives you good tension. Normally this would be a hook around two sizes smaller than that recommended on the yarn label. For Luna I used a 2.75 mm hook with 8ply/DK/Light Worsted Weight acrylic yarn. Crochet abbreviations (US terminology): I am planning on making a series of these Amigurumi dolls, so if you would like to request a pattern for a certain character (I’ll do my best!) please let me know by commenting below.

Place safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11 (if you wish to use eyes, if you are attaching the glasses there is no need for eyes), making sure they are centre on face and 8 stitches apart. In case you would like to make Luna some friends there are also free patterns available for many other Harry Potter characters. Count 8 stitches from where the nose pieces joins on lens and join pink yarn. (3 ch, 2 sc starting in 2 nd chain from hook, sl into same stitch as first chain stitch, sl to next stitch on lens) x 5. Fasten off. Join pink yarn again to any stitch on frames, 3 ch, sc into any stitch on other lens, sc into next st on lens, turn and make 3 sc stitches in the 3 ch stitches (1 sc in each ch). Fasten off.

Join yarn to any stitch on lens and 2 sc in each stitch around (24 stitches total), sl to join to first stitch. Fasten off. Fasten off. Pin hair to head and then sew into place. Gather hair to side of head and tie in place with a length of yarn. I must apologize for how long it has taken to put a new pattern up – life has been absolutely crazy with the end of the school year approaching here. However, it does mean that the long New Zealand summer holidays are almost here with plenty of hours to spend with my family, enjoy the sun and create more patterns! I can’t wait! (Although there is something decidedly weird about Christmas in summer – perhaps Luna would approve!)

Round 15: (1 sl, 25 ch, starting in 2 nd ch from hook 24 sc, sl in next stich on hair base) x 17, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) x 2, sl to join. Round 1: 11 sc around leg that you fastened off (legs are then attached to each other), 1 sc in ch, 11 sc around second leg, 1 sc in ch (24) Our latest pattern is a free Luna Lovegood Amigurumi! I love Luna and her crazy sayings (or perhaps they’re not so crazy!). You can use any yarn and crochet hook combination that gives you good tension. Normally this would be a hook at least two sizes smaller than that recommended on the yarn label. MATERIALS:
