And let me just say, I did NOT expect to love this book as much as I did, and I did not expect to fall in love with Nash the way that I did, and I did not expect to love Knockemout more than I already did.It’s a repetitive structure, and one that is made all the more evident by the fact that any major appearances from other characters are largely few and far between. Revisiting Knox and Naomi, meeting more characters in this little town, I wanted more if you can believe that. The Sloane Nash conversation in the library was adorable and yes I cannot wait for Lucian and Sloane's book next.

They battle their feelings for one another, but they give in knowing what they have is only temporary. Soon, Nash and Lina find themselves spending more and more time together, but when Nash learns of why Lina is really in town, the lines between love and hate are blurred – even while the sparks flying between them are flaring just as bright as ever. it was way too insta-love and lust-driven, i didn’t need to constantly read how horny they would get whenever they were around each other. I really enjoyed these two flawed characters having to navigate being vulnerable and deciding to let the other in.I've also gone ahead and put together a list of small-town romances and neighbors-to-lovers books like Things We Hide from the Light for you to read next as all anxiously await the third book in the Knockemout series. It was luck that saved his life when a local drove by and scared off his shooter, preventing a third and fatal shot. And after going long enough without feeling anything, feeling something--even if its anger or adrenaline--is better than the nothing. Given that contemporary romance and mysteries/thrillers are my two favorite book genres of all time and the focus of The Day-to-Days, it doesn't surprise me one bit that I loved Things We Hide from the Light by Lucy Score as much as I did. Let me just say that the weapon Lina used at the very end of the book was a thing of beauty and in a word: iconic.
