About this deal

Metaxa sources its wine from vineyards in the center of the 11.3-mile-wide island. The vineyards are typically located on mountainous ledges that receive good sun and wind exposure. In the US, Metaxa needs to be imported, but it is very popular here and has been since it was first introduced over 100 years ago. In fact the success of Metaxa in Greece was one of the driving forces behind the brand’s success overall and perhaps the main reason it is now seen as one of the 100 biggest drinks brands in the world. The Greeks may be known more for their great food and folk dancing abilities and less for their range of alcoholic beverages, but you can rest assured that, as a nation, theyknow how to drink! a b c Micallef, Joseph (6 October 2022). Which Metaxa is Best? There are many recipes for kourabiedes as each family adds something different to make them. What is the best butter to make kourabiedes? Distillation processes and ageing methodologies further elevate Greek brandy, sculpting its profile and depth. Traditional copper pot stills often find a preference, where the fermented grape juice is gently distilled, preserving the delicate aromas and capturing the essence of the grapes. The ageing process, often undertaken in French oak barrels, imbues the brandy with complexity, sophistication, and a harmonious balance between rich, dark notes and lighter, fragrant aromas.

There are four main varieties of Metaxa: 3, 5, 7 and 12. There are also special edition versions, such as their Private Reserve. The number references the amount of time that the blend has spent in maturation. So, Metaxa 3 has spent three year in those French oak barrels, Metaxa 5 has spent 5 years, and so on.year double pots stilled brandies, aromatic Muscat wine, rose petals, and fragrant herbs.
