Fresh from whatever bizarre Christmas dimension last year’s Red Gobbo bounced out of, this year’s commemorative miniature is a phenomenal ode to a trio of musical Oddboyz from the early days of Warhammer 40,000 – appropriately for its 35th anniversary. For record-keeping, each year is divided into 1000 equal parts, numbered 000-999. Note that this is not generally used by Imperial citizens, but is simply for administrative use. Each increment of the year fraction corresponds to approximately eight hours and forty-five minutes Terran standard. I started off by building a basic Battlewagon, added some floor sections from a terrain kit for the stage, and some Baneblade sponsons to the sides for the small lower speakers. Their sideburns and mohawks were made from Ork topknots, trimmed to fit, and the sunglasses are modelling putty. The guitars were made from lengths of sprue, large skull bits, carved styrene, and actual guitar string for the strings!
