About this deal

The imagery of the world was incredibly real and I cannot wait for the next part of what is surely destined to be a breathtaking and record-breaking trilogy! Each character’s thoughts and actions raise questions about their personal morality, allowing you, if you dare, to truly understand who you are as such as who they really are.

Humanoid Abomination: The Iron Hand's aptly named dreadknights might look like people, but it is clear from the get go that they're not really human. it’s like it was ment that I should k ow them already… I mean is there or is it going to be something before? If you know something about my tastes, the fact that we get two POV characters that are proximally close to each other was immediately concerning. The beginning was slow, yes, what with scenes of wooing the girl and then building the world and its history, but I expected that more was to come.I have to say that I have thoroughly loved The Ember Blade and count it as one of the best modern “Epic Fantasy” books written within the past 15 years. Actually Pretty Funny: Cade's impersonations of various Krodan guards manage a chuckle out of the guards themselves. After a quick perusal of my options, I found that the audiobook for Chris Wooding’s next book was only 10 days away from publication. Instead, everything in this book should have been implied and/or woven into the actual story, which is going to start much later. The quality of writing is extraordinary, holding its own with any literary novel while not using hard words for the sake of it.

Fen is terrified of heights due to her father throwing her off a cliff when she was younger to see if she could survive by herself. Their cultures and backgrounds are intricately set out in a world that’s both highly credible and immersive. Seeing as it’s been about a year since the last update I was curious how progress has been on book two. The Nicknamer: Grub comes up with nicknames for everyone else in the party, ranging from the mere descriptive (the Bittenbracker for Keel, Painted Lady for Vika, Freckles for Fen) to the offensive (Mudslug for Aren, Dumbface for Cade). In short, The Ember Blade is everything I could possibly want in an epic fantasy novel, and so much more. It was just a mix and jumble of so many ideas and concepts that it mostly left me feeling confused as to why so much of what took up all of those 800+ pages was of any import at all. There’s history, and explanation, and stories of old, and descriptions of the different nations of peoples involved in everything.
