If your child needed to wear their collar for 24 hours a day without removing it, after the collar is taken off the skin may be dry and itchy. For ultimate comfort, all of the collar's contact surfaces are cushioned with cotton-lined, breathable foam padding. In an effort to minimise observer bias, the bony landmarks used were readily palpable and easily identifiable, and marker placement was conducted by the same person.

Many patients regain the movement in their neck through natural recovery and gentle movement throughout the day. You will be provided with a spare cervical collar, unless you have been told otherwise by your consultant you should wear the cervical collar in the shower and change this to a dry one, once you have finished showering.
