About this deal

Huggy Wuggy's appearance goes hand in hand with a barbarically nasty character that knows only violence and destruction. That's why he not only behaves in a spontaneously violent manner, but also takes a strategically manipulative approach to destroying his opponents. While his hobby used to be hugging other people, he's now more interested in stalking and killing. In Poppy Playtime, he first pretends to be a statue, only to chase the terrified player through the darkness and try to catch him before he can reach the catwalk. Running on All Fours: As seen in both the end of his chase scene and the Project Playtime cinematic trailer, he can run like an ape with enough space and prompting, and he's much faster than a human's running speed. Mascot Villain: So far, he appears to be the face of the game itself. He's even been Promoted to Playable for the Project: Playtime multiplayer game! Un-Robotic Reveal: He seems to be a robot... up until you see distinctly organic Nested Mouths within and see him leave blood when he hits a pipe during his Disney Villain Death. A highly sophisticated doll made to resemble a young girl, Poppy Playtime can simulate real human conversation and personality.

Undying Loyalty: According to the grey VHS in Chapter 2, Huggy Wuggy is described as having massive obedience. This also explains why he continues to guard the factory years after it was shut down. Was Once a Man: As far as we know, they were all created from normal humans via an unknown process. Whether they fully retain their memories or not is up for debate. In the Monster Tutorial for Project: Playtime, it is divulged that Huggy Wuggy plays a vital role as one of the selected toys assigned by The Prototype to provide sustenance to the smaller, more vulnerable experiments such as the Wuggies. These unfortunate creatures are fed with the remains of the Resource Extraction Specialists, employees hired by Leith Pierre, who have been sent into the monster-infested factory and its attractions in an ill-fated attempt to revive the Bigger Bodies Initiative.Corrupt Corporate Executive: Can't be bothered to treat employees fairly, has a very old factory which is extremely dangerous to work in, the existence of a Game Station and Orphanage within the factory is head scratching at best. And that is not even mentioning the various unethical and nightmarish experiments that created living toy mascots to roam around the abandoned factory years later. Shout-Out: Her concept as a doll able to talk to children may be a reference to My Friend Cayla, a real-life doll equipped with a Bluetooth speaker that could connect to the internet and hold conversations.

Mighty Glacier: He's fairly slower than the player character and can be easily outrun... at first. Once Huggy engages the protagonist in the assembly line, he's able to keep up the same pace as them even though he needs to squeeze through the tunnels to continue the chase. It's implied he's simply toying with the protagonist during this first encounter. Many employees also perished within the complex, due to many of the living toy mascots killing them or the higher ups using employees and orphans as living toy mascots for the Bigger Bodies Initiative.Genre Blindness: They continue to venture deeper into the factory, despite the very obvious red flags that keep piling up around them (blood splatters on the walls, ominous VHS tapes, a Huggy Wuggy statue coming to life and stalking them). By Chapter 2, they finally seem to get the message and try to find a way out. Bloody Horror: You're just as likely to find bloody and/or severely damaged toys lying on the floor as you are intact ones. Pet the Dog: At one point in time, Playtime Co was once a regular toy company providing happiness to children and families all around the globe by creating toys. To bad it all fell apart with the company creating unethical experiements that resulted in the downfall of the company. The Big Guy: Among the other mascots of Playtime Co, Huggy Wuggy is the tallest. His real-life, monster counterpart stands proudly at 17 feet tall.

As far as we are aware, all of these warnings from schools are originating from fan made content based off of our game, but if you want my personal opinion, I do not think that any of these videos should be cause for concern, and we appreciate all the hard work and dedication our fans are put toward creating content inspired off of Poppy Playtime.” Animate Inanimate Object: Maybe. While he's modeled after a doll, we don't know if he's a toy brought to life or something else entirely. Barrel o’ Huggys– a barrel of stretchy, flat versions of Huggy Wuggy that can hook together, similar to the real-life Barrel of Monkeys game. Rejected as it was deemed a choking hazard after children tried to eat from the barrel thinking it was candy The real danger is that stories about Poppy Playtime and the Huggy Wuggy character spiral out of control like the Momo Challenge. We’ve already seen reports eager to connect the scary Huggy Wuggy character to children jumping out of windows or breath holding playground games.

Huggy Wuggy is presumed to be the one who wrote the countless words within the walls during the Vent Chase. Uncertain Doom: In Chapter 1, he falls into an abyss, bloodily crashing on several pipes on his way down. In Chapter 2, you can see bloody clumps of his fur on pipes on a lower floor, with signs that he survived and climbed to a vent on the nearby wall. Or did the Prototype capture him? Deadly Hug: His theme song seems to imply this: "When he hugs you, he'll never stop [...] He'll squeeze you until you POP!" This leads to a muddled response to actual concerns children have. Banning a child from a game they are enjoying because of a related video makes it much less likely for them to talk to parents if something genuinely upsetting happens online. With Huggy Wuggy, his general premise is to hug children, with his name being a play on the word 'Hug'. Going on the same logic, Kissy Missy's purpose would be to kiss children, hence it can be safely assumed that her toy form's personality is loving and kind.
