About this deal

There’s no substitute for experiencing the Siege of Terra series yourself because it’s a tale of such epic proportions, but before we reveal the final chapter in this story, let’s briefly catch up on the story so far. Warhammer Community: You started the narrative 17 years ago in Horus Rising , how have you found the journey to The Siege of Terra?

With all that said, the book deserves better than the three-star retirement home of mediocrity. Right here is the transformation of the 30k Imperium into the 40k Imperium, more than any other point in the Heresy series. The institutions that will define the setting we’ve known for decades are being made in the pressure cooker of the endless final day of the siege. The inquisition, ecclesiarchy, the malign fuel for golden throne and the birth of the cult of sacrifice are all in here in fascinating hints and suggestions. Which is just how Warhammer lore should be. There is a particularly noteworthy scene from Malcador’s point of view where he sits upon the Throne and we see the truly awful and eternal fate that awaits the man in gold. Terra is besieged. Humanity’s salvation lies on a knife edge. The Warmaster Horus’ bloody seven-year crusade has led to this: the cradle of mankind, where he is to kill his father, the Emperor. Warhammer Community: The (Beginning of the) End Is Nigh – The Final Siege of Terra Story Is Revealed (posted 31/8/2022) (last accessed 31/8/2022)The Emperor was Alexander the great and potentially Jesus. Horus laughs at him for crying over a river thinking there were no worlds left to conquer. Doombreed, the host of Drach'nyen, Be'Lakor, N'Kari, Ku'gath, Skarbrand, The Masque, Bubonicus, Ulkair from Dawn of War etc. were all summoned by a person Horus thinks is Zardu Layak and are fighting on Terra With the war at this critical juncture, Sanguinius, primarch of the loyalist Blood Angels, braves the horrors of the Warmaster’s flagship, The Vengeful Spirit, with a single purpose in mind: to slay his brother Horus, decapitate the Heresy once and for all, and stop the forces of Chaos from taking Holy Terra. The End and the Death is the eighth and final novel of the Siege of Terra series. [1] It will be split into an unknown number of parts. [2] Horus kills the Emperor permanently, realises his mistake, frees himself from Chaos’ influence, purges the immaterium, retains the power of Chaos, effectively becoming an Emperor-equivalent being. The loyal primarchs expel him from the empire, but Horus aids humanity from the shadows.

You seem to be under the impression that the Horus Heresy series of books is going to end in a way that radically changes the setting.

Horus Rising

Someone needs to make a list of all the plot threads that currently are lined up for this book, top of my head its basilo flo, loken, keeler, perpetuals, any meaning to the erebus/arda thing. Tho probably forgetting some/lots.

Horus has a moment of clarity, frees himself from Chaos’ influence, and uses the power of Chaos to restore the material universe around earth

The Death

That at this point Horus has devolved into a delusional, almost mindless husk doesn't help the series either. Horus was such an effective antagonist because he was brilliant, while his fall is handled badly in the Heresy, he was supposed to be an individual that initially raised valid concerns and was pushed over the edge by the involvement of Chaos. It’s heroic on a Warhammer scale, but also truly sad. It’s cosmic in scope, but also intensely personal. After 18 months of writing, with the amazing support of the editorial team and my fellow Heresy writers, it is – I hope – a fitting end to the series. It’s certainly the best ending I could deliver. Only 2,500 copies are available worldwide, each numbered and signed by the author. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Horus Heresy history! The End and The Death: Volume I
