As we welcome in the New Year, our first major event of the year is already on the horizon: January’s Toy Fair! Philip says “With rising energy prices, consumers across the UK are becoming increasingly frustrated. Nowadays there’s a trend for easy and fun heating solutions to save on bills at bedtime. Our heatable products certainly allow that, and can provide comfort at all times in the home to both children and adults.’ Simply heat the whole doll in the microwave for two minutes to release the soothing aroma then snuggle down and enjoy restful sleep, secure in the knowledge your new-found bedtime buddy will be right with you!. The Toy Industry Association has recently compiled a report showing the latest toy trends for the year ahead. Amongst the remote controlled toys, zombies and inflatable toys, the TIA have predicted large-sized toys to be one of 2014 key toy trends to look out for. Available at Debenhams, and at other major retailers and independent stores, you can expect our Knitted Warmers, particularly pig and bunny to be in high demand after their TV debut!

Running between the 16thand the 19thof February, the Toy Fair will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on the west side of Manhattan, which boasts 400,000+ square feet of exhibition space. If instructions are followed correctly his heat containment is sufficient for a whole evening of cuddles.Allowing kids to engage in more imaginative role-play activities, the affordability and flexibility of large sized toys explains their considerable appeal. The trends suggest how Intelex’s‘bigger’ toys will appeal to value-conscious shoppers looking for affordable toys for multiple purposes, with the added advantage of them being impressive gifts at kids birthday parties!

In particular, the likes of larger sized plush toys were mentioned alongside doll’s houses and inflatable toys, with toy makers increasingly creating toys that give kids more freedom than ever to play exactly how they want. Our Hooty™ owl range was incredibly popular during 2013. The additions of Snowy Hooty™ and the pretty adorable Hooty™ Friends collection, along with the useful Hooty™ screen cleaners were all very well received by the trade. In 2014, we will be expanding our Hooty™range with a number of exciting products that you will be able to browse at our Toy Fair stand. Plans are afoot with our licensed YooHoo™branded products as well. The YooHoo™ brand is incredibly popular with the kids and our fully warmable versions are going down a treat, expecially during the colder winter months.

The renewed interest in all things retro plays nicely to a number of products in Intelex’s portfolio however, as always with Intelex, our traditional approach comes with a modern twist!

Of course, this bodes very well for Intelex, with our ever expanding range of microwaveable plush toys , with plenty of new toys developed for 2014. We have innovated toys that offer great sensory play, with interesting fabric textures and glorious-smelling scents including our very well received warmable Christmas Jumpers . The anticipated ‘ Warmies®’ are a fine example of this. Moreover, the microwaveable features of our designs mean our products can be used as practical and fun alternatives to the traditional hot water bottle. Launching as part of Intelex’s Autumn/Winter 2014 range, it is expected the new and innovative Warmies® will be well received across a host of different retailers from department stores, toy shops, pharmacies, garden centres and independent gift shops across the UK. Intelex will be one of the 1,100 exhibiting companies at one of the biggest events in the toy trade industry: the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) 111thAmerican International Toy Fair. With over 150,000 products on display from some of the leading names in the Toy Industry, the international Toy Fair is thetoy trade event.

These adorable characters are soft, warm, cute and cuddly and are gently scented with lavender to relax, soothe and comfort. Everyone who we have introduced to Bunty have instantly fallen for him, and struggle to resist the urge to touch, squeeze or play with him. I would recommend Bunty to others and believe that he would enjoy a cult following given the uniqueness, playful and practical nature of his design. We have also focused on creating classics for future generations. No doubt soon to become a staple of households in years to come are the Hootys™ range of heatable owls. Hootys™ are an attractive colourful range of microwaveable owls. Different Hootys are available in an assortment of styles and fabrics, with the Hootys™ snowy owl added as a new character for 2013 and proving to be wildy popular since launch our little Hootys™ are literally flying off the shelves (no pun intended!). These nocturnal niceties are the perfect bed warming companion and are gently scented with lavender for a great night’s sleep. Who knows…maybe Hootys™ will be recalled nostalgically in fifty years’ time? For those who remember, Bagpuss® was surely the most loved cat on television! Fondly remember in spite of the fact only thirteen episode were ever made, in 1999 Bagpuss® topped a BBC poll for the UK's favourite children's TV programme. Available in a luxurious plush design, Bagpuss® feels warm, cosy, and cuddly, and will evoke nostalgic memories of the 1970s among those old enough to remember.
