About this deal

At the age of 20, in 1974, Child entered Law School in Sheffield, England. It is said that he never intended to actually practice law. Upon graduation, he decided instead to get a job in commercial television and joined Granada TV in Manchester. Child would end up working there for 18 years before being fired as a result of “corporate restructuring.” During that time he wrote countless commercials, news stories and trailers. It was 1995 and Child was 40 years old. I agree with Steven. Lee Child is the only one who can write a Reacher novel. Lee has the imagination of Reacher, he describes how Reacher thinks, acts, why Reacher is who he is and to me Lee Child is Reacher and Reacher is Lee Child. Andrew doesn’t think like Reacher and he doesn’t catch my imagination as Lee does when he writes. Reacher should get married and settled down with children written only by Lee Child OR Lee Child continues to write the novels alone. Reply

I read “Killing Floor” and I thought it was passable but a bit boring. Since then I have read 4 others and they are getting progressively worse. They are too linear with lots of long boring sections. 61 hours is typical. I have read every Reacher novel twice, including The Sentinel. Now I’m wondering if he and his son wrote this one before the 2020 US election. If so they must have had an inkling of the fraud involved…. or some other intuition. Chapter 23 hit it on square on the head. Keep up the great writing. I can’t get enough of Reacher. BTW.. we need another movie, without Cruise. As said by Nan F, Liev Schreiber would be perfect. As Reacher is on the trail of these vicious kidnappers, he’ll learn the dark secrets of his employer and find that he’s in deep, but it’s too late to stop now.Reacher doesn’t agree to those terms and even tries to escape, but eventually decides to at least look into the situation. It’s a decision that could cost him his life. this is the worst reacher book I’ve read, and I’ve read them all twice. I kept putting it down for days at a time. bored me to tears. I usuaally stay enthralled and finish one in a single reading. very disappointed! Read the books. The movie came out and i choose to not mar my mind with 5’5″ wimpy tommy. Would have been nice to have a Reacher movie with a ‘new’ actor. Not a retread. And cruise as an actor has two or three facial moves. His deepth as an actor/(human), is that of an earth worm. Reply Echo Burning: Reacher is traveling across the scorching Texas desert when he ends up catching a rife from a woman. Her name is Carmen Greer and she has quite the story to tell him. The woman tells him that the only reason that she stopped is because of her problem: her husband. He is getting out of prison soon and she’s afraid of what will happen to her. She’s looking for someone to kill her husband and she thinks that man is Reacher.

They should never used TC for that movie because he can’t act. Jim is the only that can play JR Reply The Christmas Scorpion: Reacher is spending the holidays in the California desert. It’s Christmas Eve and he finds himself in a roadhouse with a bartender, an elderly couple, and two members of the British Royal Military Police. The officers tell Reacher they were escorting a VIP to a top-secret meeting, but have since lost their charge. The threat is coming from a notorious assassin known as the Christmas Scorpion. It will take a Christmas miracle to save their charge and Santa brought Reacher. I am not keen on the idea of having two authors, regardless of who the second one is doing Reacher books. The character came from one mind and should continue to be that way. These collaborations on solid characters never work well. Reply Whoever the enemy is, Reacher knows that the only way to stop him is to match his ruthlessness and cunning, and beat him at his own dangerous game.

I totally agree with Denise Gaston-Rogers on this. Although I think Lee Child is quite handsome Reply His journey will take him through small towns, the middle of nowhere, and the Wyoming wilderness. As he digs deeper into his search, things get more dangerous for him. The ring is just a link on a chain that leads Reacher to a vast criminal enterprise. You’re all wrong ! Liev would be ok,but, Chris Hemsworth is who I picture, when I read the books !!!! Tall, blond, and built !!! Reply Tom Cruise is possibly the WORST choice they could have made to play Reacher. He is nothing at all like the character is. Furthermore, my biggest complaints with the first movie is; Reacher is self-professed terrible driver yet the movie makes him seem like an expert, and, in the fight scene at the end of the movie, Reacher is supposedly hurt by just a few punches ??? Really? Really Really? I don’t think so! Reply

Deep Down: Reacher is called in by Military Intelligence and sent undercover on a mission. Classified talks about a state-of-the-art sniper rifle are being infiltrated and it’s up to Reacher to sniff off the mole. It’s meant to be a zero-danger mission with no weapons involved, but if there’s one thing Reacher knows it’s that things rarely turn out that way. Thanks Graeme, if there’s anything I can do to help implement the solution let me know (even if you just need someone to listen to your solution) as I worked in all areas of IT so might be able to help 🙂 ReplyI, too, have read all Reacher books but I have not liked ANY since lee child’s brother started writing them! I am a 77 years old wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister…I have eclectic taste but prefer mystery stories, worked in a library…so I feel I’m a good judge of books!

Another Reacher novel, “The Enemy”, won the Barry and the Nero awards for Best Novel. With all of these accolades one would think Lee Child was born to be an author. But as usually is the case, his success story has many twists and turns that lead him on the path to writing his best selling novels and to ultimately create this alluring character. Born Jim Grant on October 29, 1954 in Coventry England, Child and his family moved to Birmingham when he was four years old. He thinks it won’t be a tough job, but soon finds himself racing through LA, Chicago, Phoenix, and San Francisco, going against thugs and assassins at every stop. The search will ultimately force Reacher to confront one of the worst nightmares that he could possibly imagine. The victim happens to be his own brother who he has not seen in seven years. It does not help that the main eyewitness happens to be the police chief who claims to have seen Reacher at the scene. Reacher knows he was boarding a bus in Tampa at the time. With the help of a Harvard-graduate chief detective and a female officer, Reacher traces his brother’s steps to solve the mystery. Of course this all happens in a span of only three days. Im 80 years old,and I,have being reading your books for the last four years, my husband was a ex Militery Police, and I use to pretend,.That Reacher was my husband.I have read some of your books twice,i just finish the Sentinel…WHY ,WHY, do you have to kill him,you wrote all this other books,..Im really piss at you. Reply I too was very disappointed at seeing Tom cruise in the role of Reacher but I gotta say I binged the new series on prime. I think they nailed it. ReplyExcellent series, wonderful actors, I am thrilled to see Lee Childs books portrayed so well in a TV series, I am an avid fan and have read his books for many years, hope this series will continue! Reply When the first movie had been announced I imagined Dolph Lundgren as Reacher. I know Dolph is a bit too old, but he is much better Reacher than shorty 😀 Reply
