I liked the fun 80’s style graphic overlays on the midfoot and rearfoot of the Ghost 13 more than the all-business style upper of the Ghost 12. As part of a broader Brooks shoe stable, the Ghost 15 sits comfortably alongside the Glycerin which delivers a plusher, more cushioned running experience to the neutral runner. However, I over-pronate, when I got home and I checked outsole treads worn out by 4-5mm in the areas where I land. Maybe it just comes down to people’s feet being different, but the disparity between review scores from all other sources with this site is a questionable thing.

Cush Pod Configuration is a cushioned midsole/outsole design that sets the foot up for an efficient, balanced heel-to-toe transition. I’m normally in-between shoe sizes so I made the decision to go with the bigger size because Ghost uppers are so padded and plush. In fact the two versions are so similar that when I did an A/B test run with one version on each foot at the same time, I really had to concentrate to notice a difference in ride.

I had my ghost runner 13 since April 2021 and been wearing them occasionally for runs and walks (even wore them as my primary shoes during 3 weeks of travel). S-257 Cushsole is a midsole compound used as an insole to deliver even more cushioning and flexibility. If you wanted to run a marathon in the Ghost 14 and you weren’t worried about your time, you definitely could.

I find that the flat laces distribute pressure more evenly and they make the entire lacing area flatter and more performance oriented. My first run was on a cold winter morning and I could feel the icy wind on my feet so it’s definitely airy and breathable. More than half of the experts who covered the sturdiness of the shoe are in coherence about the outsole wearing fast. I used to run long and medium distances with my ghost 13 and I was looking forward to the ghost 14 as I thought it would be a direct upgrade.The initial wear of the outsole rubber, especially on the heel area shows rapid wear after the first couple of runs, however after that, the wear tapers. I am not an expert when it comes to running shoes and I’ve gone through many, but these are the first in giving me this awful pain. There are a couple key differences between the Brooks Ghost 12 and Brooks Ghost 13 when you compare them side by side, but many of the essential elements haven’t changed. The heel-to-toe DNA Loft gives the Ghost 13 a consistently soft feel all the way through the transition. The upper in the 13 is more breathable and Brooks tweaked the outsole ever so slightly to make it more stable.
