As for the Mic inputs, it’s fairly rare to have more than one in most all-in-one units –let alone one of this size –so having a pair is a nice surprise. The mic controls, located on the upper right hand side of the Prime GO, consist of a pair of volume knobs and on/off switches. Mic 1 has a Talkover feature that reduces the volume of the music automatically when using the mic. The attenuation of the mic signal can also be adjusted within the Utility menu. Build Quality We know from experience with the previous Mixstream models that the basic formula here is solid; Numark use the Engine software found in most Denon controllers, meaning that the Pro Go has a reliable operating system to match its solid hardware spec. There’s little need to go into too much detail on the basics here, because the Pro Go simply matches the Pro Plus in many ways: very good sound quality, decent if unspectacular build quality and superb performance courtesy of that excellent touchscreen and thoroughly developed Engine OS.

That said, there are definitely a few things on the Prime GO that I would like to see improved. Hopefully most can be done via a firmware update. As always, sound quality is a very subjective thing. But for my tastes, I found the Prime GO has the typical Denon DJ sound quality –meaning that it is very good. The Denon DJ sound signature tends to have a very mid-forward presence, as well as a level of warmth that rounds out the overall signal very nicely –especially in the lows.
New Main FX for Denon DJ Hardware - over 25 new and enhanced FX (many of the same FX featured on the RANE FOUR) On top of these external media sources, the Prime GO also features inbuilt Wi-Fi and a wired ethernet connection. By using the internet, you can then log into streaming services such as Tidal, Soundcloud, Beatport link and Beatsource, brilliant for event DJ’s, especially when dealing with requests. For something so portable, the Prime Go is undeniably very effective and a lot of fun to play around with The Go is fully up to the Denon technical specs at least when it comes to the outputs. Enjoy the quality sound of the unit and have fun mixing! But please note that no matter how well Denon designed it and the exceptional value it provides, it is not immune to misuse. Performance Features
Much like the majority of Denon DJ gear, the GO feels solidly built. The casing is a mix of plastic and metal, the pots all contain metal stems, and nothing feels loose or flimsy. The unit also has a satisfying weight to it despite its small stature. Some may remember the Stanton SCS4 DJ, which was an early and brave attempt at this kind of device but that, despite showing promise, was ultimately both aheads of its time and underpowered; this certainly feels like that kind of product coming of age. Engine DJ 3.1 also brings new Sampler updates! Sampler audio can now be routed to any available channel, or to the main output. Access this by double-pressing the Roll pad mode button. The possibilities are endless! So following on from our first review of the unit (when we had literally had a day or two to get our heads around it), here are some long-term user thoughts about this intriguing little portable DJ system.
Engine DJ has released a new operating system update in version 3.1. It brings new and improved features and a series of fixes. This update ensures Engine DJ OS remains powerful and upholds its status as a dominant performance software. New features include Touch FX with new effects and touchscreen interaction, Main FX with twenty-six new and updated effects, Frequency parameter, a range of new Sampler features and the introduction of Smartlists, which organise songs automatically using pre-set rules from all connected devices. New Engine DJ Software Update Version 3.0 The touch-capacitive jog wheels are a little too small to be taken seriously for scratching but still a nice feature to have. Just above the jog wheels are four small rubber performance pads with coloured lighting. These appear very similar to those found on the flagship SC6000 players. The EQ for each channel is found above the performance pads. These are laid out horizontally rather than the traditional vertical layout. It may seem like a strange decision, but after using the product, we find it hasn’t affected being able to mix. Unlike the bigger Prime 4 unit, the Prime GO doesn’t feature a dedicated screen to display the details of the effects. This information is displayed on the main screen instead.
