About this deal

However I was thoroughly surprised there's so many secrets between all the friends it made it so intruiging and hard to put down.

A wealthy businessman who seems to be controlling and is bank rolling the trip for the group to celebrate his 50th birthday. Well plotted and well written with red herrings although as it was written from multiple POVs and in the past and present you were given hints, should you pick up on them. After seeing her books sold in a number of countries across the world, Marshall is back with another gripping new release. The chapters are short so it’s very easy to get whisked on the Greek Island with Liz and her friends, with the exotic backdrop, bubbling tension, ‘My Husband’s Killer’ is an intense and gripping book that was impossible to put down. There are a lot of novels of this type at the moment but I think Laura Marshall really pulls it off in this entertaining psychological thriller.

Right from the first page, the story pulled me in, the characters are unreliable, dislikable and all have motives to kill Liz’s husband. If the movie had more time, it would be interesting to see if over the course of his relationship with Lisa whether or not things with Leah deteriorated. The reader gets to witness life at university for the group and the beginning of several long-term relationships, the tragic holiday to the Amalfi Coast which is the beginning of the end for Andrew, and how utterly devastating life for Liz and the boys is after Andrew’s death. There are a lot of characters which did feel a little confusing to start with, but I soon became used to the different names and relationships. I want to think that it was on purpose to show case her as a bad person but I don't think the movie is that smart.

They took my boys - shell shocked and dazed but still needing company and entertainment - on outings, giving me time to deal with the endless admin, or to do nothing at all but stare into space or cry on the sofa. On the day of her husband’s funeral, Liz’s whole world is turned upside down as she discovers evidence of him cheating.

Her character started the movie with the stupidest action, but unlike a lot of other Lifetime "heroines," it didn't take her the whole movie to realize her mistake and own up to it. If you like the whole drama fuelled relationship scandal this is your cup of tea, if not it’s like drinking tea with salt.

Moments before the funeral begins, Liz finds a condom in the pocket of the shorts he was wearing on the day he went missing, and suddenly Liz fears that her friends might be hiding secrets of the very worst kind. But as the story progresses and you get to know the characters in a little more depth, it all becomes clear. With a clear focus on the impact of grief, loss, betrayal, the lines of friendship and shock thanks to the events highlighted in My Husband’s Killer, Marshall’s latest was very addictive. As the story progresses and Liz delves into their lives, it makes for compelling reading as she tries to piece the bits all together.
