Sling mode 2.5 allows for left and right tilt as well as center-of-gravity adjustments to the gimbal handle for improved low-angle shots. You can attach the separately available Extendable Sling Grip to shoot in sling mode or two-handed grip mode. The 1/4″-20 thread at the bottom of the gimbal supports the included tripod accessory.

Also familiar to us is the Zhiyun iOS and Android app, which enables additional control of the gimbal as well as offering templated creative options. We're not exactly power users of the app, but it's always there if you want or need it (e.g. firmware updates to the gimbal are done via the app). In terms of battery life, the M3S has slightly less battery life compared to the M3. The M3 had 8 hours of battery run time and the M3S has about 7.5 hours. In my opinion, this is not a huge difference as all the other upgrades make up for this slight reduction in battery life. Like the M3, this also takes about 2 hours to charge using PD fast charge. Fill Light If you have a very heavy DSLR, or use specific long lenses, you might consider moving up to a more heavy-duty gimbal, such as Zhiyun's Weebill 2. The Crane M3's sweet spot - noting its stated maximum payload of around 2.2kg - is with smaller-body DSLRs and mirrorless compact cameras, as well as smartphones. The WEEBILL-3S retains many of the important features of its predecessor, the WEEBILL-3, including long battery life, the same heavy payload, multiple accessory mounting options, wired camera control, and PD fast charging. Gone is the built-in microphone from the WEEBILL-3, but it leaves the gimbal’s redesigned body slighter and more versatile. The gimbal features Bluetooth shutter functionality that enables wireless control of zoom and recording without the need for a cable connection. The expansion base for the gimbal (included with the Pro Kit option) has a receiver built-in, which can be paired with the transmitter module for wireless control of cameras via Bluetooth where supported, e.g. to trigger your camera's shutter button. The 0.96″ display screen has shortcuts for motion lapse, V mode, etc. The WEEBILL 3S’s control wheel supports the adjustment of parameters, focus motors, and the gimbal axes. The WEEBILL 3S takes two hours to fully charge using PD fast-charging and offers up to 11.5 hours of non-stop shooting. New to the CRANE series is the added feature of an interactive 1.22”, full-colour HD interactive touchscreen enabling parameter adjustments to a range of gimbal mode settings (portrait, vortex mode and go-mode) as well as follow speed. The intuitive display panel also indicates camera operational status, connection to the gimbal and battery levels. On the subject of long shoots, the M3 supports the 'PD Fast Charge' protocol, with two hours of charge giving you up to eight hours of runtime from the 1150mAh battery, depending of course on how many features you're using and how hard you're torquing those axis motors. Neatly, there's also a USB-C slot in the body, so the gimbal can be charged with a power bank whilst continuing to operate. The other difference is that the M3S does not come with the microphone module anymore, which was on the M3. In my opinion, this was kind of useless. I never really used it and because of the removal of the microphone module, the Crane M3S only comes in two options: the Standard Version and the Combo Version.
