About this deal

While both models have satisfying tactile buttons and knobs, the added connectivity of the R1850DB and upgradability make it the winner here. The R1850DB justifies the higher price tag with strategic upgrades such as the optical/coaxial inputs, subwoofer outputs, a better remote, and subtle design changes such as the glossy piano finish which gives a more premium look.

Compact and look great. Sound brilliant connected by bluetooth to my iPad and also on the auxiliary input to my Yamaha arranger keyboard. The fiber optic input cable measures 144 cm. A fantastic pair of bookshelf speakers. Full Specifications I just you take a break and go watch the video on Youtube-Curator Cast to get a feel of everything I said above. I live in a busy street so there is always some sort of disturbance even when windows are closed so I end up keeping the volume above 70% most of the time. But during silent nights 50% volume would suffice for a room sized of 10x20 ft for a good experience. Music played via Bluetooth seems 5-10% higher. These speakers produce different volume levels based on the source quality of the audio thereby you'll not have consistent audio experiences. FLACs, HQs, WAVs, 24bits are best formats to listen with these speakers which is SIMPLY MAGICAL but MP3s or youtube, soundcloud, gaana stream listening will feel fairly balanced. Movie watching with these speakers via Prime, Netflix, jiocinema, etc will definitely make you feel the need for higher vocal volumes. To enable Bluetooth mode you can select the relevant button on the remote control unit, or you can press the main volume control knob on the active speaker. For those that listen to a lot of bass-heavy music, the DM-50D set of monitors from Pioneer is a good alternative. It is also able to get quite loud without distortion The frequency response is 60Hz-20kHz. There is enough depth here in both the low and high end to deliver an accurate response. A little more room is always nice in the lower end to hit that deep sub-bass but for a woofer this size 60Hz is ample. Having said that, it still delivers great quality audio and features like DSP and DRC noise reduction.

DIGITAL / ANALOG INPUTS – RCA/Aux for PC turntables etc Optical/Coaxial for lossless connection Bluetooth for convenience

R1700BT units have a solid build quality with ideal weight to keep them in place. In addition, the exterior casing features a high-performance MDF wood with vinyl walnut woodgrain wrap to add a decorative touch. This makes the speakers ideal for any studio or home application. Being that we’ve already reviewed R1850DB’s younger sibling, the R1800BT, we suggest taking a closer look at that article for a more in-depth analysis of the unit’s sound. Conclusion Has abundance of modes for input including AUX cable, Bluetooth and Optical which gives plenty of options. It has very good bass , goes to a decent volume considering the small 4 inch bass driver and has a very warm treble presentation which I feel is due the silk dome tweeter used . Silk domes do sound warmer and richer compared to Metal dome tweeters albeit with the sacrifice of treble extension.
