About this deal

One reviewer concluded that this feature takes a 1920×1080 crop from the middle of the sensor frame for the "3×" zoom, but was unable to confirm this with Canon. [2] This feature has not been included in any subsequent models of the Rebel line, or in the EOS M mirrorless camera (although in that model, it can be implemented with Magic Lantern open source software), but returned with the 2013 release of the EOS 70D.

The Canon EOS 600D is an 18.0 megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera, released by Canon on 7 February 2011. [1] It is known as the EOS Kiss X5 in Japan and the EOS Rebel T3i in America. The 600D is the second Canon EOS camera with an articulating LCD screen and supersedes the 550D, although the earlier model was not discontinued until June 2012, when the successor of the 600D, the 650D, was announced. Four metering modes, using 63 zones: spot, partial, center-weighted average, and evaluative metering. This isn’t going to be a particularly large camera, even for a newcomer, which might actually make it ideal. I love carrying my R5, with its beefy RF lenses around, but if you’re just getting started, something like the 600D + an 18-55mm kit lens might be bulky enough. Taken with: Canon EOS R5 + Canon RF 15-35mm f2.8 L IS USM Image Quality x 1080 (29.97, 25, 23.976 fps), 1280 x 720 (59.94, 50 fps), 640 x 480 (30, 25 fps), MOV (Video: H.264, Sound: Linear PCM), Max duration 29min, Max file size 4GB If you have vloggy aspirations, you have a port where you can connect a microphone to the camera, like a Rode Videomic Pro, for example, but you do not have a headphone port. Full HD video example, shown above, image quality is very good, and the camera allows you to take photos while recording. Sound quality appears to be good but is only recorded in mono unless you add an external mic. The camera can re-focus when shooting if needed, however, this is the same as live view focusing and can be quite slow. The 600D gets a 'new' kit lens, the EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS II. According to Canon this is identical in specification to the previous version, and features exactly the same optics and IS system: it simply has a revised external design. The visible changes suggest a paring down of production costs, for example the 'white square' alignment mark for mounting the lens is now simply painted on, rather than moulded. The camera will also come in a kit with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. I understand that the 600D is an entry level camera, and most people wouldn’t consider using it for professional use, but I’ve done professional corporate headshots with a Nikon D3200. At the end of the session, I’d rush to my laptop, and copy the files off the SD card, just in case. If you’re using an external mic to record the interview, which you should be doing, this may not be an issue, depending on the acoustic properties of the space you’re filming in, but if not, you might be better off using manual focus.

Scene Intelligent Mode (or Full Auto), Portrait, Landscape (Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Sunset, Default setting), Close-up, Sports, Night Portrait, No Flash, Program AE, Shutter-priority, Aperture-priority, Manual, Auto Depth-of-field, Movie Canon EF-S lens mount, a subset of the EF mount designed for cameras with APS-C sensors such as the 600D What hasn't changed at all, though, is the camera's core specification, making the 600D the first camera in the line that hasn't gained a higher resolution sensor or new processor. So Canon's tried-and-trusted 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor is still in place, along with its sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 12800) and 3.9fps continuous shooting. Likewise the 9-point autofocus and 63 zone metering systems are unchanged. This means that the 600D is unlikely to bring any surprises in terms of image quality. When it comes to the images, as you might expect of an 18MP APS-C sensor, detail and resolution are both quite good, producing quality RAW files that take up about 20MB each. sec (1/2 or 1/3 stop increments), Bulb (Total shutter speed range. Available range varies by shooting mode)

We have indeed been spoiled by better and better Auto Focusing systems, so it might just be the fact that I’m fussier about AF than most, but if you’re going to spend the money, get something like the Canon 77D, which does have Dual-Pixel AF. Storage As you might expect, the camera isn’t particularly large, weighing in at 570g, or 20.11 oz. The body measurements are 133 x 100 x 80 mm.
