About this deal
Often with budget shoes, you might find that the material of the upper is plasticy and falls apart relatively quickly.
I bought the Asics Nimbus 23 shoes for running and it has been a complete disappointment and an absolute nightmare. With Guidance Line technology, the Contend 7 corrects supinating foot strikes, when your heel rolls outwards.I had used the shoes for only about 250*kms of running appro, and already the shoes are tearing apart. I had a few minor issues such as the sewn overlay at the toe box rubbed a little during the longer runs and when I picked up my pace the rubber sole was noisy when striking the ground. The technology this shoe has to offer is its rearfoot GEL technology, a durable AMPLIFOAM midsole, and an OrthoLite sock liner. Seeking a cleaner aesthetic, Doug now works mostly in fashion and sport, opting for outdoor locations rather than a studio. The AmpliFoammidsole absorbs shocks and improves the bounce for a more comfortable and energetic ride.
If you’re looking for a shoe to take you on faster, longer runs and keep you from damaged joints, it’s best to look elsewhere.
I have run in the Hoka One One Elevon’s for a while and they have some similarities to the Gel-Contend 7’s. yeah they are not the fanciest but I like them and they are very durable and after almost 1 year and cleaning them weekly they look like new. This did not influence the outcome of this review, written after running more than 50 miles in them.
