About this deal

The main measurement plot shows a frequency measurement graph in red. At the left is a small "thumbnail" version of the measurement - each time you make a new measurement, a new thumbnail will appear here. At the top of the screen are buttons that access various tools and immediately above the measurement is a row of tabs that show different "views" of the measurement. The UMIK-1 is an omni-directional USB measurement microphone providing Plug & Play acoustic measurement. For cheap mics, I recommend the Sonarworks XREF20. You need to find a supplier who will sell them, since they’re meant to only be replacements for the bundled one with the software.

MiniDSP is pleased to introduce the UMIK-2, its second-generation omni-directional acoustic measurement microphone. The UMIK-2 has everything that made the first-generation UMIK-1 one of our best selling products, including a convenient plug-and-play USB connection and a unique calibration file for each microphone to ensure accuracy. This plot shows that there are slowly-decaying resonances around 26, 30, 57 and 74 Hz. With this type of graph, you may need to adjust some display parameters on the Controls and Limits popup windows to get the most useful and informative plot. You're now up and running with the Audio side. You'll want to add your webcam or external video sources to the sources of OBS as per the manual of OBS.Amarra Symphony: Amarra Symphony with IRC is an advanced music file player for the Apple Mac platform. It includes a feature called "Impulse Response Correction" (IRC), that corrects for acoustical errors at the listening position caused by early reflections from the speaker and listening room. It also provides the ability to tailor the response at the listening position using target curves. Special features such as calibrated SPL measurement enabled under free Room EQ Wizard (REW) software

Finally, change the signal generator to generate a pure tone (sine wave). Then go to the FFT display and tap the Play/Pause button. The display will show the tone being generated as a high "spike" as well as any distortion components. (For example, if you play a 1 kHz tone, distortion components will be at 2, 3, and 4 kHz):

Then open the Configuration screen (the "gear" icon), and tap on I/O Device Configuration and then Input Channels. You will see the UMIK-1 has been selected:

In this application note, we will show you how to integrate a subwoofer with your existing loudspeakers by using a miniDSP 2x4 HD. You can use an existing preamp, or replace a preamp and a DAC with the miniDSP 2x4 HD. (In the latter case, you will need to program a remote control to adjust volume in the miniDSP 2x4 HD.)Specifications: • Polar pattern: Omni-directional • Capsule type: 6 mm electret • Frequency response: 20 to 20,000 Hz ±1 dB with calibration loaded • Resolution and sample rate: 24 bit ADC @ 44.1 or 48 kHz • Max SPL for 1% THD @ 1 kHz: 133 dB SPL @ 0 dB gain setting • Output noise level: -74 dB FS • Power requirement: 5V via USB connector. miniDSP assembled some very comprehensive steps by steps for the UMIK-1 for all sorts of applications. Please make sure to start reading our application notes to be up and running in no time! Mount the UMIK-1 into the small stand supplied with it, or if you like, you can use any other microphone stand. To connect the UMIK-1 to your Apple iPad, you will need either the Lightning to USB adapter (for newer iPads with an 8-pin Lightning connector) or the Camera Connection Kit (for older iPads with a 30-pin connector). This photo shows an iPad mini connected to the UMIK-1 via the Lightning adapter: The UMIK-2 is of course fully compatible with REW (Room EQ Wizard) and Dirac Live (version 3 and later). Driverless operation with macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, and a supplied ASIO driver for Windows ensure simple integration into many other measurement and recording applications. With the UMIK-2, miniDSP once agains stretch the limits of affordable acoustic measurement gear. Let the measurement fun begin! Features

For multichannel system (E.g. 5.1/7.1) or a surround application where multiple speakers are spreadout around the room, use the 90deg file and point the UMIK-1 at the ceiling. Recommended by our Friends For multichannel system (E.g. 5.1/7.1) or a surround application where multiple speakers are spreadout around the room, use the 90deg file and point the UMIK-2 at the ceiling. At this stage, the ambiMIK-1 should be live and ready to stream audio as you'll notice from the RMS meters in the Audio Mixer section. Make sure to use the ambiMIK-1 gain utility (see user manual) to modify the internal gain for proper signal as you speak/play music... The yellow section from -20~-10dB is what we'd typically recommend.

Multichannel DSP for Audiophiles

For stereo system (e.g. 2ch dirac live, single speaker measurement), use the 0deg file and point the UMIK-1 at the speakers
