About this deal

He will be sorely missed. As with several of my favorite authors, several other writers co-authored books in series after that author’s passing. Two such authors were Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn. I really hope all the different series he wrote, will be able to be continued, maybe by his Son who has his own ability for writing too. Clive Cussler cared about his audience and gave us all adventure and fun and excitement, and he truly has a wonderful legacy for the next generation, my grandkids. My prayer is that he rests now until Jesus comes, and that which is already here as his legacy will continue as a memorial to a great author and human being. The NUMA Files, a spin-off of the Dirk Pitt series, is an underwater exploration series featuring Kurt Austin, the leader of the Special Assignments Team at the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA). Austin’s missions take him all over the globe hunting for people who want to exploit the world’s natural resources.

What are the Oregon Files books about? These books are about Juan Cabrillo, his crew of mercenaries who have a conscience, and the rest of his gang. Cabrillo and his crew operate from aboard the ship: Oregon. I always love it when my favorite books are made into films. Some have been done poorly, but most are enjoyable enough. So, what about Clive Cussler’s books? Which ones have been made into films? Raise the Titanic! After leaving the military, he became a copywriter before working at two advertising agencies as the creative director. Cussler produced many radio and television commercials that won international awards during his time at the ad agencies. In addition, Cussler began work on his first Dirk Pitt novel between 1965 to 1973. Clive Cussler’s books are a favorite for many people. One of his most popular series involves Dirk Pitt, an oceanographer and marine engineer. The U.S. government often calls upon him to investigate maritime mysteries such as sunken ships or art treasures. In his passing, we lost a talented author and adventurer that created several generations of readers. I can only hope that they continue to release books under his name and in his memory for years to come.

There are many amazing novels which are written by Clive Cussler and one of his well-known series is based on the story of Dirk Pitt is a fictional character. But what does it all have to do with a two-hundred-year-old naval battle and the centuries-old Islamic scrolls that the Libyans seem so determined to find? The answers will lead him full circle into history, and into another pitched battle on the sea, this time against Islamic terrorists, and with the fate of nations resting on its outcome. Clive Cussler is an adventure writer and a well-known author. He was born in Aurora, Illinois, on July 15, 1931. However, he spent most of his childhood in Alhambra, California. Cussler died on February 24, 2020. After attending Pasadena City College for two years, he joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Returning with Moroccan authorities, Nina discovers that all evidence of the camp and its residents has been obliterated. The stone head has been destroyed. There is yet more bad news: her friend at Penn has been killed. Meanwhile, another NUMA operative Gamay Trout is investigating some unusual Mayan ruins. She meets scientist/archaeologist Dr. Chi in the Yucatán, but they are confronted by chicleros, lawless men who steal Mayan artifacts. Her husband goes searching for her when she disappears. Through amazing feats Gamay and Dr Chi barely escape and meet up with her husband. The crew locates the plane, but the secretary of state has vanished. It turns out Libya’s new foreign minister has other plans for the conference, plans that Cabrillo cannot let happen. Soon afterwards Nina, unable to sleep, slips out of camp. Returning to camp, she witnesses an armed force execute all the team members still in the camp. The assassins sight Nina and give chase. She eventually literally swims for her life, but a hovercraft pursues her with the obvious intention of killing her. A hand on her ankle yanks her beneath the surface of the sea. Kurt Austin, a diver from an offshore NUMA ship shares his auxiliary oxygen tank and saves her from certain death.

Serpent is the first book in the NUMA Files series of books co-written by best-selling author Clive Cussler and veteran of mystery [1] books Paul Kemprecos, and was published in 1999. The main character of this series is Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala. [2] Summary [ edit ] I wish I could remember my first read and how I was introduced to Clive Cussler, but I can only say what a wonderful imagination and storytelling he had. He drew on his experiences, and always provided accurate information depending on the story of details which gave the story a real sense of truth. I don’t remember if he did it in all of his books, but Clive Cussler did show up in quite a few of his works of art in storytelling, as a character in that story. All these events seem connected and point to a fiendish plot by Halcon. Secrets in the long-distant past hold the key. Sam and Remi Fargo are the central characters of this adventure. They travel to various locations around the globe to solve ancient mysteries. They also find long-lost and forgotten treasures while on their quest.

The series is co-written with Paul Kemprecos for earlier books and Graham Brown for the later books. Graham took over the series following Cussler’s passing in 2020. In 1902, the volcano Mt. Pelée erupts on the island of Martinique, wiping out an entire city of thirty thousand — and also sinking a ship carrying a German scientist on the verge of an astonishing breakthrough. More than a century later, Juan Cabrillo will have to deal with that scientist’s legacy. But Cussler has written other popular mystery series that often involve maritime themes: The NUMA Files, the Oregon Files, Isaac Bell and more.
