This set is a must-have for any fan of the Leagues of Votann. It includes a range of multipart plastic models, each with their unique skills and abilities. First up is Ûthar The Destined, a legendary Kâhl who is revered for his battle tactics and leadership skills.The Hernkyn Pioneers are next, and they roam the battlefield on magna-rail bikes, scouting out paths for the Hearthkyn Warriors and Cthonian Beserks. The three Hernkyn Pioneers are expert navigators and can help guide your army to victory. To one of the Kin, no sacrifice is too great if it will protect the Votann. But all is not well. After 10,000 years of continued operation they are becoming slower and more erratic. If they ever, finally do crash, it will be the biggest blue screen of death in the galaxy. Genetic manipulation, commerce with the Xenos… the Leagues would make a Monodominant Inquisitor’s trigger finger very twitchy. They also have secrets that would enthral and horrify the Adeptus Mechanicus. The Leagues practise the forbidden art of science.

The result? Tense, involved, but straightforward games that can be played in less than an hour.* There’s still plenty of nuance for Warhammer 40,000 experts to enjoy – swapping out Enhancements and Secondary Objectives to mix up their playstyle, and mastering each faction’s Combat Patrol in turn, without having to build up a full Incursion or Strike Force-sized army. This brings our total to 1845 points + wargear. I think this is the more well rounded version and give you the chance to actually use these units before you decide to play with other options. Or before you opt to follow a specific playstyle for the army. You can always go all-in with the other direction later. I've played with both armies, but got 4 total games using the Votann Combat Patrol.
