About this deal

The Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR UniFi access points has a refined industrial design and can be easily installed using the included mounting hardware. Is there a way of directing this unit to connect to the main access point instead of repeating off of another repeater? I then connected my Unifi Gateway Pro secondary WAN port to my LAN and configured the secondary WAN port to point the the 192.

The human-facing side of the access point has an LED that shows the various states of the access point.I have not been in the industry in more than 15 years and therefore I am sorry if I have been much more long winded than need be to ask what I have asked, but I did not want to leave anything out, nor did I want to make it sound as if I was in over my head because I do not believe I am.

I think its implied but I haven’t seen it stated for sure, or I was confused by other comments made with the answer… If I have several Unifi AP AC LR’s setup with a controller, can I moved the configured devices to another network and operate them without a controller? In that regard, I'm like the guy who experienced a luxury hotel or a first-class airline seat and now can't bear the thought of going back to the way things used to be. DNS and Gateway should come from your router, you can compare the setting in the controller with the other access points. It will work without it, you could also install the Unifi controller on your notebook just for the setup.

I have, in the past simply used an extender but it is flaky and I feel not very secure, but in any case it might be perfectly secure, I would like to keep the wired connections in the house around the CL access point as they are, and provide one wireless “mesh” network I think to every wireless device on the property while also having a wired connection in the garage which would arrive in the garage wirelessly So I thought, set up the Ubiquity device with the controller, or now I think maybe the mobile phone option is better, so I would love to hear opinions on whether I need to install the controller on a desktop, as I do have a mac and a PC that are on 24/7 should that be the preferred route. If you have any internet protection software running like Norton, Avast or any other firewall software on your computer, open it and disable your firewall to see if you can find the devices. Use the UniFi Controller software to quickly configure and administer an enterprise WiFi network – no special training required. I bought an AUS RT-AC88U router a year ago and although good, I wasn’t getting full Wifi signal strength in more distant parts of my house.

So if you are after maximum speed and you have a notebook that also supports a 5ghz network at 1300 Mbps, then you should go for the AC-Pro. The UAP AC LR can be set up in minutes and fully managed with the UniFi Network web application or mobile app. I have a very old HP Jetdirect print server device that absolutely refuses to connect to the NanoHD AP. on other AP’s the S9+ is connected, but every few minutes it seems to disconnect and not to reconnect again, only manually. I use a number of devices with Tasmota fw over IP (which i do trust) but also some IP devices with proprietary fw.For a more detailed look at the Ubiquiti UniFi features, take a look at Doug’s comprehensive UniFi 3. For in-house placements, the UniFi 6 Lite and the Long Range models are most of the time the best fit. I have tested the wifi strength of both the AC Pro and the Asus router and the router has better strength. Any software-based interventions should therefore not pose any problem, as long as we know where to start and what to expect. The antenna gain of the UniFi UAP AC Long Range performs better than one-way, high transmit power does for connecting distant clients.

I need to install two Unifi LR APs one is in the front office of a warehouse and the other is at the dock at the back of the warehouse. LinITX hope to build on these guides and put together a comprehensive Ubiquiti UBNT knowledge base that covers basic and advanced processes and setups. But a few of the comments in the syndicated piece echoed a general dissatisfaction with the consumer wireless access point landscape and recommended we check out some entry-level "enterprise" wireless gear instead. Is this a setting issue with the way I setup the access points using the controller, or is it an issue with our router settings?A single UniFi Controller running in the cloud can manage multiple sites: multiple, distributed deployments and multi-tenancy for managed service providers. But before you actually place it, first just connect it to your switch or router with the supplied PoE adapter. If you have configured them as standalone devices then you will need to reset them first and make sure that they are in the same network as your computer. There are a couple of devices in the middle story that for some reason they don’t connect to the closest AP (around 5m distance, no walls), they prefer to connect to the other two APs where the signal is too weak. Apart from the device, if there is a 20cm concrete wall between the access point and the measured location, then no access point will be able to give you a good wifi strength.
