Players assemble and customize a fleet, assigning captains, crew, tech and weapons to their ships. The game features many famous crew members and vessels from both the live action and animated Star Trek universes. Ships have their capabilities displayed on their ship tokens as well as having Ship cards to display their unique abilities. Alongside these cards and tokens, the game utilizes maneuver dials and templates from the "FlightPath maneuver system" for its gaming mechanics, which is provided under license from Fantasy Flight Games. Players assume the roles of commanders who customize, upgrade and assign famous crew members to their starship fleets. Players and their fleets then compete against each other in various combat and exploration scenarios during the game. Uses the core rule set of the FlightPath™ game system with a Star Trek twist, but is not compatible with other FlightPath™ games from FFG. A unique promotional Khan Singh Captain card was released exclusively at the Gen Con gaming convention in August 2013. [4] Core game sets [ edit ] These fleets are drawn from factions such as the Borg, the Dominion and the Federation, and vessels have special statistics, abilities, and maneuvers displayed on separate "HeroClix Combat Dials". Retailers will host game tournaments for players who will compete for dominance of the Alpha Quadrant in a series of Dominion War Storyline OP Events. Each month, players will collect participation prizes and vie for a unique ship.
