This is an intriguing book. It shines a spotlight on the changes that take place in women as they transition to motherhood. So good I read it TWICE! And now my fiance is reading it! Thank you. It’s a brilliant book that all mums to be should read!” I can see why it probably doesn’t make easy reading if you’re part of the system that this book highlights to be the problem. However, if you can persevere with it there are some very valid and accurate points made. This book is helpful in opening up the conversation around how we can all do better in supporting women to birth in ways that avoid unnecessary trauma. I think it is one which would make interesting reading for both women experiencing birth trauma, and professionals, alike. Pam England makes good use of art therapy and creative visualisation. The book is also full of photographs and fascinating artwork and illustrations. Childbirth Books #5: Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin
