I loved the characters. I loved Robin and her little girl Lyla. I loved how female driven this book was. We have so many wonderful and different woman in this book. I love the different relationships Robin has with all of them. Women supporting each other through all the ups and downs in ones life. I LOVED IT.

Additionally, this book and her creation of the “Wilde Readers” Facebook group is what inspired me to begin my bookstagram! I was drawn to this book by the intriguing description, just by reading this I found myself wanting to find out which direction Robin's courage would take her. She sounded like such a relatable character and I couldn't wait to find out if that would be the case. As the story continued I was introduced to Auntie Kath (a loveable whirlwind of a woman), Robin's daughter Lyla (a fun and intelligent little girl) and Lacey (a super supportive best friend ). Who else would I meet along the way? Louise’s first book, Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter, was published by Simon & Schuster in July of 2015. This book is full of helpful hints and tips for living a happier and more fulfilling life. She wrote the book based on her personal experiences.If I'm being honest I wasn't sure about buying this book originally as I'm not a mum but as an avid watcher of Louise's YouTube channel I thought I'd give it a go.

On 1 September 2016, after her divorce, she announced in the blog post Why I'm 'Quitting' My Youtube Channel [17] and the video Finishing with Sprinkle of Glitter [18] that she will be quitting her YouTube channel as it is now, and change to something more 'adult', as she feels she has grown up a lot since the start of her channel, and it's time for something new and something she feels is more 'Louise Pentland', instead of 'SprinkleofGlitter'. I knew Louise was releasing this book because I have followed her on YouTube since her sprinkle of glitter days. Therefore I saw her video announcing the book. Jumped at the chance to read it on @netgalley and I'm so glad I did, definitely will buy a physical copy. Huge thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books for allowing me to read this ahead of its publication date ! Louise also kept it real the majority of the time, and it was clear that being a new mother leaves little time for things like fashion and makeup. She stayed true to her passion and continued to share beauty, fashion, and lifestyle advice. She frequently worked with other YouTubers during the process.

Not only is Louise incredibly relatable, she has a realistic and inspirationally positive perspective upon life, despite it’s inevitable ups and downs. Predictably, I laughed (sometimes uncontrollably- see anecdotes of Lizard Man and so on), I cried and moreover I felt liberated to start my mummy journey in whatever earnest I deem necessary. Undoubtedly, Louise is an empowering woman and I am in total awe of her integrity, honesty and hilarity. This isn’t a mum fluff book. I thought in my head this was going to be a little ‘unmumsy mum/why mummy drinks’ like (not that unmumsy mum and other fluffier books are bad- I love them- just that this one is different) but it really isn’t. It’s raw and it’s honest and feels a little like Louise has bared all, so to speak. She speaks of heavy topics such as death and abuse and divorce alongside the lighter topics and she explores these topics with grace and decorum. Pentland was born and raised in Northampton. When she was seven years old, her mother died from metastatic breast cancer, which Pentland goes into detail about in her October 2015 video, "My Pink Hair Story". Her father later remarried and Pentland suffered mental and physical abuse from her stepmother. While at school at Northampton High School, Pentland experienced bullying.
