About this deal

Lilt made its UK debut in 1975 with the advertising slogan: ‘the Totally Tropical Taste’. It later hired actors Blanche Williams and Hazel Palmer to star in the TV ads and they became known as the ‘Lilt ladies’. Adding the fun-fuelled fruity beverage to its mouth-watering line-up, Fanta continues to expand its brand portfolio with the most flavourful fruity drinks on the market, providing a mix of refreshing flavours to play with your senses. Coca-Cola has axed its tropical soft drinks brand Lilt after almost 50 years, and relaunched it as Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit. Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit is available in 330ml cans, 500ml and 2L rPET bottles and Fanta Zero Pineapple &Grapefruit is available in 2L rPET bottles only. The product will be gradually rolling out nationwide across GB from 14th February 2023. New Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit 330ml cans, 500ml bottles and two-litre bottles featuring “the same totally tropical taste” as Lilt will roll into retailers tomorrow (14 February).

Lilt became a feature of popular culture with its Lilt Man parody adverts in the late 1980s, and a decade later it was promoted by two Jamaican women known as the Lilt Ladies. Charlotte Walsham, Fanta Brand Manager said, “With Lilt’s punchy taste profile and distinctive fruity flavour, it fits perfectly within the expanding Fanta family. Our main priority with this announcement is to reassure Lilt’s loyal fan base that absolutely nothing has changed when it comes to the iconic taste of the drink they know and love. It’s still bursting with tangy tropical flavours. It’s just got itself a new name.” It will become part of the Fanta brand as Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit, reflecting its two main flavours. The new drink will be available officially from Tuesday (February 14). It will be available in 330ml cans, 500ml bottles and 2 litre bottles. A zero sugar version will reportedly only be available in 2 litre bottles.
