About this deal

Starting off with the Mid-bass/Sub-bass test I’m using David Guetta’s “I’m Good (Blue).” The intro bass drums have good impact, but nothing too crazy/overwhelming. The sub-bass at 0:38 is surprisingly strong, uncommon for Eastern IEMs – Final has definitely learned what the Western market likes. I’d guess close to 68-70 dB on the sub-bass. A5000 is equipped with a powerful high precision ‘f-Core DU’ 6mm dynamic driver unit newly designed from the ground up to create high-quality clear and powerful sound.

Final Audio A5000 vs. E5000 Comparison Review Final Audio A5000 vs. E5000 Comparison Review

Imaging is beautifully crafted on the A5000, lending to a greater sense of realism and immersion most would enjoy in their listening At first, I really struggled with the fit on these. Sometimes I have issues with my right ear with IEMs but this one seemed harder than most. It may be the angle of the nozzle. I also have issues with 64 Audio IEMs. I’m not sure if it is the shape of the shell or the angle of the nozzle. I tried 15 different tips of various brands, styles, and sizes. The medium final audio tips with deeper insertion seemed to get the best sound and fit. A good fit is essential for these. They have little forgiveness for a bad seal. These have the largest sound stage I ever heard in a IEM, None of the IEM's I owned in the past was this large. I def hear it being projected outside of my head in compression to my er2SE's which are inside my head. In a song with a lot of atmosphere it felt like I was surrounded by the notes of the pads and the other sounds if that make sense, I not sure how to explain it. The development of the A series began with the establishment of a new evaluation method by analysing the relationship between sound quality and physical characteristics; the result was the A8000. The A5000 has further evolved that evaluation method. As a result of a new research targeting an evaluation method that matches the actual music listening situation. This is the best IEM I have heard. Not one of the best. It's the best. Pls read my detailed impressions here posted on the #donglemadness groupTransience on the A5000 is speedy but not unnaturally so. Instruments have very clear separation and can sound very spritely and lively.

Final Audio A5000 | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head

The real complaint I have is the cables. The detachable cables are really soft, although they are not tangle-free. They also feel a little on the thin side. Frequently I was having trouble keeping the cables remain in place behind my ears. I wish the cables could have the built-in ear hooks. The A4000 does come with a pair of clip-on type of ear hooks. Although they look frigid and not that promising so I didn’t even want to try them. The other issue I had with the cables is that the 2-pin connectors are keyed. That means it’s difficult to find a 3rd-party replacement cables that will fit the connectors. The latest A5000 IEMs from Final Audio has finally been released. Suffice it to say, impressed many of us here at MajorHiFi, but there is also the A4000 to consider. When you have one of the best budget IEMs getting this kind of upgrade, a comparison is a no-brainer. Hopefully, this review will help you decide which one to get. What You Get Bass: The bass feels very coherent and textured. I would say the bass is one of the main strengths of the A5000. It has some punch and even some slam when required to do so. I looked up the driver configuration after blind listening and was surprised. I would have assumed a 4BA or hybrid setup, but it’s just one DD. The bass texture through to the mids is the strength of this IEM. It helps acoustic music and male vocals come through clean and easy. The bass is surely a positive of this IEM overall, but for a budget single DD the IE200 is still my go to option. The IE200 can better separate bass texture and amount from the mids while also doing the other regions more justice. 6/10 I know that A5000 is on a pricier side but it justifies the price in build quality, sound quality, comfort, cable quality, E tips and technicalities. So i am going to divide my opinion into Bass, Mids, Treble, Soundstage and imagingThe TONALITY is vivid, detailed, clear and precise, not neutral because it has a small rise in the bass and high mids, rather a well-balanced W curve. One could say analytical too, but not cold or artificial. It is less well balanced than the A8000, but extremely cohesive and even hyper-realistic. Despite amplified bass, there is almost no bleed. In fact, the A4000 surprises ad infinitum, due to a stunning versatility that surely comes from this little bass boost. Final Audio A5000 – Again, the bass is so good here. Deep and textured. There are touches of sibilance her voice but it’s not too bad.

IE600 – Even more bass versus the Final Audio. Very good. More elliptical sound stage but not radically different. A bit less treble energy but still a good sense of clarity and detail The eartips provided enjoy so much popularity, I need not to expand on them. Great material, does not make your ear sweat exceedingly like an S&S will, no pressure buildup in the ear canal (compared to foams, or again the S&S for that matter), tonality wise it of course matches perfectly with the A4000. I don't like them so much on other IEMs, but that's outside the topic of this review. Innovative systems for identifying right vs left channels isn't as effective as traditional methods Usually at this price range I’m ready to be fairly forgiving of flat imaging or narrow sound stages, but Final Audio’s A5000 has nothing I need to forgive. There’s a genuine three dimensional quality in its depth, and even some degree of height. The staging is forward facing and presents itself at a near perfect 180 degree angle, sending hard pans flying jarringly to the sides of my head and right next to my ears. Mono lead vocals felt as though they came directly from behind my forehead, at sometimes even a little above my head. Combined with its clean and delicate balance, the A5000 is all about its separation and clarity. I find its imaging to (very arguably) be the star of the show, as it’s hard for me to think of unit at this price that left such an impression on me in this aspect. Lows The PET, as diaphragm material, is quite light; this means that it has lower inertia and it can therefore move precisely according to the electric signal it is fed with. However, the diaphragm is always attached to the voice coil. If the diaphragm is light, but the voice coil is heavy, the overall movement of the two, which move as one piece, would be slowed down. For f-CORE DU, Final is using a 30μ diameter Copper-clad Aluminum Wire (CCAW) instead of the commonly used copper wire. CCAW is made from aluminum inside with a copper coating (copper cladding) outside. The density of copper is three times that of aluminum, so a CCAW voice coil is almost three times lighter than a copper voice coil, and as a result of this the couple diaphragm-voice coil has a really fast and accurate reaction to the feeding electric signal. On the other hand, thinner wire, like CCAW, means more turnsin the same space, so higher impedance, and therefore more powerful amplification is needed to drive the IEM, but the sound is definitely more accurate. This is the case with f-CORE DU.

Summary: Departing from the common V-shaped consumer sound, the A4K provides the listener with enough vibrancy to be engaging but is still V-shaped. Just not a much so as others, who add more “oomph” up top. But in a smoother than normal manner. Bass could reach deeper for me as could its impact. That can be accommodated by EQing the sound. Mids are good but not great. I consider that part of the smooth nature. Male vocals are good and there is good clarity of note with both male and female vocals as well as the overall signature. I would not call it spacious but engaging again adding to that smooth sound to me. Upper mids are pushed forward, which seems to be the flavor de rigor, but not as much as others. With a fast decay, the notes heard are true and aid in that vibrancy of which I speak, but again to me the overall is of a smooth nature; especially when compared to the others here. The ABS casing features a Shibo finish, a surface technique that mimics the texture of other materials like leather. This is reminiscent of the finishing found on cameras. I'm personally extremely fond of it because it reminds me of the first camera I ever owned. (RIP Nikon D90) In addition to clear vocals, even the fine mid- and low-range sounds are reproduced clearly, creating a sense of depth in each note, allowing you to feel the uplifting feeling of music more than ever before. PC + CX31993 or Avani dongle dac, PC + topping E30 & L30, Sony ZX707 DAP, Xperia 10 IV phone – A5000 needs same power as A4000 (less than A3000), just the cheap dongle is fine to be honest.
