About this deal

You shouldn’t even use the Dyson V6 to vacuum up wet materials. These materials will clog the motor, ruin the brush, and potentially break the vacuum cleaner. However, we recommend emptying the vacuum into an outdoor bin. The Dyson V6 is a bagless vacuum, so dust and other allergens will escape into the air when you empty it. It’s best if these particles are released outdoors!

The Dyson V6 has a “Max” fill line that’s less than halfway up the side of the cylinder. It’s important to empty your vacuum when dirt reaches this line, not when the cylinder is completely full. This ensures your Dyson maintains its cleaning performance and reduces the chance of clogging. The downside is that you’ll need to empty the vacuum more frequently – but that’s a small price to pay to avoid overfilling. Step 2: Empty The V6 Bin Into an Outdoor Bin Need to empty your Dyson V6 cordless vacuum? Here’s how to remove debris from this popular machine and prevent overfilling.

An incredibly light cordless vacuum cleaner that's perfect at cleaning a wide variety of surfaces, from carpets to hard floors

We always recommend emptying bagless vacuums into an outdoor bin though. There’s nothing stopping small particles from escaping during the emptying process, so it’s more hygienic to empty and clean the vacuum outside. The Dyson V6 has a dirt capacity of 0.4 litres. This is relatively small, so you’ll need to empty it after most cleaning sessions. It’s also smaller than the V7, V8, V10 and V11. Newer Dyson cordless vacuums do have an internal collar to push out dirt. These aren’t perfect, but make the emptying process more hygienic. Can The Dyson V6 Bin Hold Liquids?

The Absolute combines Dyson’s V6 digital motor, which spins at an incredible 110,000 revolutions per minute to produce a maximum 100 air watts of suction, with the cyclone technology previously used in the company’s mains-powered vacuums. The 15 cyclones are placed in two radial tiers, which preserves air pressure on its way through the vacuum and helps capture smaller dust particles. When empty, we measured suction at 11kPa, or 19kPa in MAX mode; that’s on par with some of the mains-powered vacuums we reviewed last year. Impressively, this didn’t drop at all while the battery was draining, or when the bin was half or even almost full.Using one of the motorised brush heads will reduce this to 15 minutes, and engaging the Max mode lowers it further to six minutes total runtime. Max mode is only really necessary for big spills, and isn’t needed for day-to-day cleaning. Take a look, and you’ll think nothing had changed from its predecessor. Don’t take that as a negative, though: Mr Dyson is well-known for eye-catching, yet practical home appliances and the: “if it ‘ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach rings true here more than most. There’s that power trigger grip at the top end, along with the motor and battery just below. With that, and not with a simple one-button press, you’re only draining the battery as and when you need to, even if it is a touch sensitive. It’s also an easy vacuum to empty, as the V6 uses a simple trapdoor system to allow dirt to fall into an external bin.
