Billy Woods is a real album specialist whose own personal history often tells the tale of world history. In the years since Woods has had an exceptional run of releases including a 2020 collaboration with Moor Mother and two albums under the Armand Hammer moniker. But billy woods’ new album, recorded with beat maker Kenny Segal, is the NYC underground rap icon’s most accessible record to date, following his decolonial »Aethiopes« (2022) and the autobiographical meanderings of »Church« (2022).
