In " Gravity", while fighting Tyrian Callows, Qrow partially extend Harbinger's handle into a bladed tonfa, to mix his combat with punches. It was then used by the former to fatally stab Clover Ebi, implicating Qrow in his murder.This is referenced again in the episode, "It's Brawl in the Family", when Ruby first notices Qrow and Winter fighting.
Rukia loses her own memories and her very form changes after being forcibly merged with Homura and Shizuku. Her hair and eyes lean towards a lavender colour, her kimono becomes white and tattered, and her fighting ability is greatly augmented. This particular appearance of Rukia lends itself towards the first ever design of Rukia that Tite Kubo envisioned: she wields a large scythe. This malicious, Hollowfied form of Rukia is a treat for Rukia fans and BLEACH fans in general; however, there is something oddly heart-warming about seeing character concepts that were once scrapped come to life in other ways. During " Heroes and Monsters" the scythe form was finally revealed in full when Qrow used it to protect Ironwood from a Griffon. In the completed form the blade gained red sharpened edges on the inside, while the outer edge took on a serrated appearance due to the folding. The hilt telescoped in two places, which then curved much like a traditional farming scythe. A trigger, presumably for the shotguns, becomes prominent in the middle section of the handle. Interestingly, the transformation proceeded differently from before, with the entire hilt shifting instead of just the blade, and ending with the shotgun barrels in a different position. Concept art revealed in the credits implies that the shotguns can rotate independently of the rest of the hilt and of each other.Promotional material at NYCC 2012 has indicated that Rooster Teeth has been teasing RWBY since October 10, 2012.
