The MTL draw is nice and tight, though I would have liked a tad more vapor on the inhale. Compared to the UWELL Caliburn, my current #1 favorite pod system, it feels a little underwhelming. It’s good, but it’s just not quite as good as the Caliburn. Overall, the NOVO 2’s performance is a solid 7/10, meaning it’s not market-leading like the UWELL Caliburn, but it is a lot better than most. There’s an LED light on the front of the device that is barely noticeable. It’s just a small dot. When you vape on the Novo 2 it lights up to signal your battery charge level. The colors are: The key things it has (and does right) are battery life and its draw; the MTL draw is near-perfect, just like the Caliburn or, if you’re coming from cigarettes, just like pulling on a real smoke. This is a draw activated vape so you just have to inhale on the mouthpiece to vape. There’s no physical fire button or buttons of any sort. It’s a very easy to use device. The draw activation works great too and requires little effort to vape.

The Novo 2 has what Smok call a “U-Shaped” airflow. There’s an airflow hole on each side of the pod that draws air in through the sides of the device, through the hole in the bottom of the pod, and through the coil to the mouthpiece.The SMOK Novo 2 has no physical buttons; the pod is breath activated, meaning as soon as you start inhaling the atomizer fires. It works great too. This kit has a host of features that make it one of the simplest devices to use, including inhale activation, which means you just need to puff on the mouthpiece to vape. To ensure that this kit is easy to use, it will also select the correct wattage for any of the compatible pods when they are inserted. So, whether you prefer more vapour and the looser draw of an RDTL pod or the tighter inhale that more closely resembles the feeling of a cigarette, the Smok Novo 2X will automatically select the correct settings, so you you can just fit your pod and start vaping.

Smok recommend the 1.4ohm pod for nicotine salts and the 1.0ohm pod for regular nicotine ejuices but I found them to both be good for either. The 1.0ohm mesh pod will deliver a slightly stronger throat hit but it’s still perfectly fine for use with nic salts. It’s worth mentioning that the resin designs aren’t real resin. They’re actually just plastic panels that look like resin. It still looks good though and I don’t mind it at all. When the battery life is under 30%, the draw gets noticeably weaker. I would suggest charging your Novo 2 when it’s at the red level to save yourself the weak and unsatisfying draws.The Smok Novo 2S pod vape kit is the ideal option for beginners or those that want something simple to use.
