About this deal

The very fact that the film is based on time travel is a surprise element dropped in the mid of the film. On 4 October 2017, it was announced that Channel 4 was developing a television series based on the V for Vendetta comic book, which ultimately entered development hell. [35] On 29 July 2019, the day following the series premiere of Pennyworth, previously presented ostensibly as solely a direct prequel to Fox series Gotham (2014–2019), [36] [37] series co-showrunner Danny Cannon confirmed that Pennyworth would also serve as a loose prequel to V for Vendetta, with the British Civil War depicted in the series' first season eventually leading to the formation of the Norsefire government of V for Vendetta, [7] a sentiment echoed by co-showrunner Bruno Heller on 11 December 2020, on the day of the second season premiere, [8] [9] and again on 5 February 2021, in the lead-up to the mid-season premiere. [10] Characters wearing V's Guy Fawkes mask were later introduced in the series' 2022 third season, set five years after the first two seasons. [38] Legacy [ edit ] Repercussion (2) – Other than one cool piece of video footage, which forms one half of a conversation, there is minimal effect to the timeline because of a person’s time travel.

Time Travel Mechanics (1) – No one will ever know how people manage to go through time in the Terminator Movie Series as no filmmaker tries to describe the process. Base Coherence (4) –The film sports two distinct timelines. One replaces the other, and the stray consciousness goes forward into the body of an alternate Wolverine. Not much is described about this alternate timeline leaving the future films to work its fate.Repercussion (2) – The events in this film have minimal effect on the timeline. Part 3 is a little isolated that way, except just one thing at the end with the car-race. Coherence (4) – The final Coherence score stands corrected against the Repercussion score to 4 (4 x 5/5). Barsanti, Sam (8 September 2022). "Trailer for the third season of Pennyworth has a truly confounding comic book cameo". The A.V. Club. Archived from the original on 8 September 2022 . Retrieved 8 September 2022. As we witness time travel into the future, a few questions are raised about the immediate turn of events. But these get answered flawlessly in the end.

Time Travel Mechanics (1) – People just appear in an electric ball of static discharge. There is no mention of how they travel through time. Rewatchability (2)– It’s a lovely film which you will watch a couple of times to really understand it.

Ending Explained

Coherence (1.8) – The final Coherence Score stands corrected against the Repercussion score to 1.8 (3 x 3/5). During the Occupy Wall Street and other Occupy protests, the mask appeared internationally [53] as a symbol of popular revolution. Artist David Lloyd stated: "The Guy Fawkes mask has now become a common brand and a convenient placard to use in protest against tyranny—and I'm happy with people using it, it seems quite unique, an icon of popular culture being used this way." [54] Rewatchability (2) – While all other aspects of the film are brilliant, there is not much depth to the characters, and this will leave you remembering this movie as a uber-complicated slasher. V, in the meanwhile, starts distributing Guy Fawkes masks all over the country. Finch then understands what is going to happen. This a nice sequence where he sort of preempts what is going to happen and the visuals show glimpses of scenes yet to come, not to mention the lovely domino act. Finch understands that there is going to be a lot of chaos and in that chaos someone could do something stupid. This one stupid act can cause the whole public to unite and start a revolution. As expected, a fingermen chap ends up shooting a small girl wearing the Guy Fawkes mask. Instantly the people turn on him and beat him to death. The mask unites people and makes them overcome their fears. Government should be afraid of their people and not the other way around. V hands Evey the power

Barnett, David (27 December 2016). "V for Vendetta is a manual for rebellion against injustice". The Guardian. Archived from the original on 24 March 2018 . Retrieved 1 May 2018. The characters are compelling, and the storyline is fascinating. You’ll enjoy watching this film time and over for years to come. V uses Evey’s access card to get to Lewis Prothero’s place and kills him. The morning comes and Flinch observes a Scarlet Carson next to Prothero’s dead self. They trace the access to Evey and figure it has to be V’s job. As V and Evey sit to watch his favourite movie – The Count of Monte Cristo, the news shows the death of Prothero. Evey confirms from V that it was his doing. Evey wants to run away because all of this is getting too scary for her. To plot her escape she explains to V how she wants to live her life without fear and that she would like to help V with his mission. V uses Evey as his bait to get to Lilliman. Evey dresses up an an underaged girl meant for Lilliman’s entertainment. While Evey tries to explain to Lilliman that V was coming for him and she’s been a prisoner of V. Lilliman thinks Evey is trying to be kinky and is playing a game. Just then V enters and kills Lilliman. Evey escapes to Gordon Deitrich’s house to take refuge. These scenes are quite similar to the comic, just that Evey is not trying to escape, she doesn’t even realize Lilliman is going to die. Have a look: The comics follow the story's title character and protagonist, V, an anarchist revolutionary dressed in a Guy Fawkes mask, as he begins an elaborate and theatrical revolutionist campaign to kill his former captors, bring down the fascist state, and convince the people to abandon fascism in favour of anarchy, while inspiring a young woman, Evey Hammond, to be his protégée.The movie] has been turned into a Bush-era parable by people too timid to set a political satire in their own country. ... It's a thwarted and frustrated and largely impotent American liberal fantasy of someone with American liberal values standing up against a state run by neoconservatives – which is not what the comic V for Vendetta was about. It was about fascism, it was about anarchy, it was about England. [30] The loops are also batched, which makes it more exciting. I can’t explain more without giving away spoilers.

The movie could have really explored the far future to the point of the end of the earth, but it didn’t take that path. Repercussion (2) – As in most time-loop movies, the lead character remembers details from previous loops and uses them to narrow down on his objective. But it doesn’t get too complicated as there is no way for the lead to run into alternate versions of himself or has any control beyond the 8 minutes.Coherence (4) – Given the Repercussion score is a 5, the Coherence score is the same as the Base Coherence score for this film. The cast is fantastic, and it’s lovely to see the actors give the characters life. About Time is a cheerful film and leaves you feeling good in the end. The lead characters do meet themselves for a short moment and exchange bootstrapped information, but it’s not of major significance to the main story.
