About this deal

Just finished reading it, the retcons are pretty small and of no consequence. It's like saying your great great grandmother hand blue eyes when before someone said they were as pretty as emeralds.

Trolls had moved north into the dragon isles 20k years ago and had created villages with straw huts. It’s also mentioned that they are more established in the south with civilizations. Then how would you feel paying money (and a lot of it) for a book advertised as THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO THE HISTORY AND LORE only for it to be slapped with a retcon stamp a couple years later saying that all of the information was just propaganda and not necessarily the truth, and the information isn't trustworthy or valid? I'm all for them giving us more books. Some of their best lore was centered around the dragons and their history. I don't get why there is so much hate for books these days, do ya'll not know how to read? Book is great if you're the kind of person to buy and read wow books. I thought it was one of their better stories. <3Morelike War of the Stillborn with how all the Aspects and the Incarnates have been written this expansion Comment by Grothrill on 2023-06-13T14:28:53-05:00

A mid-expansion book leaving more questions than answers? I wonder why. Is it potentially that those threads are left the way they are because we'll get more story in 10.2 and the already encrypted 10.2.5 on PTR? I love this text. Especially the stitch of wondering (because many of us wonder), what audience was Dragonflight targeting?Just read them and you won't miss anything. Reading is fun and the more books we can get the better. He is also the first one to ascend of the primal incarnates. Iridikron is the second. Razsageth is the third. Uncover the full story behind the War of the Scaleborn in this official companion novel to World of Warcraft : Dragonflight . It would be nice if major books lore books like this was released before an expansion . So there's a lil bit more context for why the baddies are bad and makes discoveries in game more excitable . The purpose of this book seems to be an explanation of the relationship between Alexstrasza and the enigmatic Vyranoth. Like an in-game cinematic, this novel does not stand alone. The reader is assumed to have historical and geographical knowledge of Azeroth and the Dragonflights, which can make it somewhat inaccessible to a new fan. To a new player, or a player new to lore and history, the geography of the world that the book is set in makes no sense. This story is set pre-Sundering, but the reader is expected to know this. Is that fair? Possibly. Many readers will be those who have read every one of the previous books and who know this history perhaps better than the writer herself. But many will not. That said, unlike an in-game cinematic, this book is not necessary to enjoy the story in the game. It provides more depth and detail for those who wish it, and an examination of long-time characters and newer ones alike. I'd love to have Vyranoth and Alex have a rivalry in the past, only to have Alex see reason in Vyranoth's words and ally with her against Tyr, fulfilling the prophecy that she would turn against him without being corrupted by the old gods. I've been playing and reading WoW on and off for a long time so, I can definitely confirm it likes that. It sounds more like you're trying to defend the company, as if they're going to pay you.My agency remains inviolate,” Alexstrasza said. “Tyr offers what guidance he can, but my decisions are my own.” Swear it to me, then,” Vyranoth said. “Swear to me that you will never force a primal dragon to bow to the will of the keepers.” Despite the efforts of the Dragonqueen Alexstrasza and her primal friend, Vyranoth, to preserve peace, both sides slip closer to violence, as dragons are forced to choose a side or be swept up in the growing conflict. With battle lines and allegiances drawn, the war amongst dragonkind shakes the foundation of the world. Both sides realize they will have to make sacrifices to secure the future of their kind, sacrifices that will cascade through the ages.” STOP. You have a living world that people are paying to access. You have an amazing visual and audible storytelling method there, already, right before our eyes. You fragment the playerbase who care about lore into A) those who dropped however much time and money on the novel versus B) those who didn't but are nevertheless playing your live services MMO.
