About this deal

The only exception to that is the exclusion of the entire species of rats from the school world, and the fact that while every other character is roughly the same size & walks on 2 feet, the rats are all smaller, walk on all fours, and talk in only squeaking. The first day begins with Margot waking up in her new home, so excited to get to school that her father has to remind her to change out of her pajamas before heading out to the bus. Meanwhile, Sampson has a rough time getting to school because he really needs to use the bathroom, while Penny is sleep-deprived because her new baby brother cries all night, and Aziza, obviously somewhat of a grind, has to figure out how to show her thought process for solving math problems (“How you got the answer is just as important as the answer itself,” Mr. Wolf reminds her). Super-cute and full of adventure, MYSTERY CLUB is a great comic for reluctant or new readers in elementary school. Featuring a class of animals and their antics, this is a fun comic that is easy to get into. Each chapter features its own connected story, such as the formation of the Mystery Club, their attempt to solve the mystery of a missing teacher, and the finding of all the balls and frisbees that disappeared during recess in the crazy land beyond the fence. Some of his students include: Margot, who is new in town and is trying to make friends. Sampson, who brought something special to school for show-and-tell. Aziza, who just wants everyone to be quiet and do their work. Even though the all-animal cast of characters are meant to be in middle school, my guess is this will appeal to readers in 4th-6th grades - based on the plot, the character's interests, & the style of illustration.

In this one we have naughty kids, birthdays and awesome pizza, and a mystery club. I really liked the idea of the mystery club, but I wasn't a fan of the kids just wandering through the school and making excuses. And that none of the teachers (nor the principal) cared. Wow... And when the kids went home one just got out of the car and ran away. WTF? My daughter is 7 and really got excited about reading graphic novels last year. It can be a little tough to find some age appropriate options to share with her and her friends. This would easily make the list. The story follows a classroom as they begin their first day of school. Mr. Wolf is even a new fourth grade teacher and experiencing his very first day as well. They encounter and deal with different personalities, new schedules, and even a few mistakes along the way. Mr. Wolf is just as guilty. He loses a student for part of the day!!I did think it was weird that Abdi asked if he was the only boy at the party, um everyone was invited?????????????????? This is an incredibly relatable graphic novel. Students will recognize several actions and routines that they follow in their own classroom or school. The chapters are short and are told from a few different perspectives. It’s definitely full of kid humor. One of my daughter’s favorite parts was the rats who would sneak into the classroom to take lunches. She also liked the unique show-n-tell item that one student brought to class. The illustrations are superb, colorful and very playful. The characters are just as great and were made up of a variety of different animals. There were a couple learning moments where it explained what a palindrome was and briefly touched on several varieties of shells.

Also why don't they have a higher fence around the playground, given how many times balls fly over that fence it would seem safer to just make a bigger fence, or have a net around the ball area. From Eisner Award-winning creator Aron Nels Steinke, a vibrant, funny new series that charmingly captures the everyday antics of a Year Five classroom! In addition, all the animals use human English, and some have names associated with ethnicities. For example, there is a cat named Abdi, short for Abdikadir - but nothing about his clothing, features, skin color, or behavior mimics stereotypes or tropes. in Schools Catalogue 2023–24, 507 in EU Primary September 2023 and 167 in EU Primary Autumn 2023 Format

What do you get from sewing the head of a smart dog onto the body of a tough police officer? A new superhero from the incorrigible creator of Captain Underpants.

Mr. Wolf's Class Series Order

Any tween reader, who loves books with animals, graphic novels, and books that talk about the adventures in and elementary classroom would enjoy Mr. Wolf’s Class. Praise for Mr Wolf’s Class: “I’ve really been enjoying the Mr. Wolf’s Class series. Each book is filled with fun stories, great characters, and fantastic artwork!” – Dav Pilkey Mr. Wolf’s Class follows the adventures of a class of anthropomorphic students and their teacher, Mr. Wolf. It features a cast of 17 students and the trials and tribulations of a typical elementary school classroom. What Grade is Mr. Wolf’s Class?

Mr. Wolf is excited for his first day as a fourth-grade teacher. He busily gets things ready, then falls asleep in his classroom while his seventeen students are mostly slumbering in their beds. There is one who is too nervous to sleep, and another whose noisy baby sibling is keeping her awake. One student is asleep in a car. This student, Margot, and her dad are just arriving to their new home. Then begins chapter one, the dawning of the first day of the new school year. Steinke is currently working on a new original graphic novel due out in the summer of 2024. What is the Mr. Wolf’s Class Series About? in Schools Catalogue 2023–24, 340 in SCB Offer September 2023 and 508 in UK Primary September 2023 Format For Mr. Wolf's Class Steinke changes the focus, not only including but giving priority to the perspectives and experiences of the children. The story begins with some nice cinematic establishing shots of Hazelwood Elementary, nestled near the woods in a Pacific Northwest community. We are then introduced to Mr. Wolf, who, in a series of silent panels, is working hard to transform the current disarray of his classroom into an attractive, workable space. I’m not sure most people know that elementary schoolteachers actually have to do this janitorial work. It’s a good detail to include.

Each student is portrayed by a different animal, and student readers will find familiar personalities – the new kid, the noise-maker, the jokester, the sleepy head. They will also enjoy the hilarious yet familiar situations of the class during the first day – the bus ride, meeting the teacher and other students, bathroom antics, fart jokes, a visit to the library, a math pretest, lunch and recess, pests in the classroom, a missing student. Additionally, young readers will also enjoy glimpses of the first day as experienced by the teacher. Very clean, very charming, very recommended. There isn't a story in this book so much as it's just a day in the life of a teacher, Mr. Wolf, and his rambunctious first-grade class. There are kids from all walks of life in this classroom, some implied to have behavioral problems and others dealing with problems at home (though of the relatively mild variety, such as one child who's recently moved to a new house and another coping with a new baby brother). And the teacher has to put up with rats in his classroom, a fellow teacher stealing his stapler, and a child that goes missing partway through the day. Recasting Dog Man and his feline ward, Li’l Petey, as costumed superheroes, Pilkey looks East of Eden in this follow-up to Tale of Two Kitties (2017). Mr. Wolf has just started teaching at Hazelwood Elementary. He wants the first day of school to go well, but he’s got his hands full with his new class. Some of his students include: Margot, who is new in town and is trying to make friends. Sampson, who brought something special to school for show-and-tell. Aziza, who just wants everyone to be quiet and do their work. And Penny, who is VERY sleepy because she has a new baby brother at home, goes missing!
