The text chats & Cooper's cameos are awesome! Apart from the previous books' couple (Brady+Nat, Murphy+Sabrina), I'm happy for the older couple–Joe & Katherine too! Yup, there's sub plots here, so fun! I love Annabelle & Declan so much! This story's Well-Written & The ending+epilogue are beautiful. #MustRead
Always Earned, Never Given is a Heart-Breakingly beautiful, Steamy friends-to-lovers Sports romance with Laughs, Fun, Swoons, Heartwarm, Love so deep, cute surprises, Suspense & some action! *Ooh!* Under Pressure is centered around Sebestian “Bash” and Eleanor “Lenny”. When they first initially meet during a night out Len knows exactly who Bash is but fails to let him know who she is. When another unexpected met between the two brings her identity to light Bash doesn’t like that she withheld such a big secret. I really liked Murphy and Sabrina together. He is totally swoon worthy and I liked how feisty and sassy Sabrina was. College romance is not a genre I read a lot of, but I found More Than A Game to be well written and entertaining.This is book 1 in the Risks We Take Duet, which means that this leaves off on a huge cliffhanger. I had in my mind one way this was going to go and I was so wrong!!! Aside from leaving Carys and Cooper on a cliffhanger, there are side characters that have huge cliffhangers as well. I didn't expect to get so emotional, but god this book was so good. And the mouth on that man? Pleasssse 😮💨 I was not expecting it because he was such a gentleman. Cooper is probably one of my top book boyfriends now. I love how he always wanted to keep Carys safe. He is just so yummmmm. I have no words to explain the complex, messy, and beautiful perfection that is Cooper and Carys’ story. Bella Matthews is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors, and “Changing the Game” did not disappoint! Cooper and Carys were always going to face challenges, especially considering the fact that they’re technically step-siblings. But their love for each other is stronger than their fear of what their family will think of them. I really loved everything about this novel, even though some of the angsty scenes made me want to cry. As for that ending… I just about threw my kindle at the wall!
I low key sulked when we got Dec's book before Bash's, but now it makes PERFECT sense why we did and I was not expecting THAT plot twist at all! The most perfect story which now lines up the next series so amazingly, and I CANNOT wait to get my hands on the next one! 😍 I need more Sammy, STAT! At 21 years old Annabelle finds her world flipped upside down and as the sole caretaker for 8 year old brother, Tommy, who has autism. She walks away from her dream as a ballet dancer to take care of him in their home town of Kroyden Hills. She opens her own dance studio where she hires Natalie to be a teacher (All In). In hiring Natalie she is swept up into the Sinclair family which means when Declan Sinclair is drafted to play for the Kings he comes home to Kroyden as well. One look at Annabelle and he knows he is hooked for life. He just needs to convince her that he is all in and will earn her heart one inch at a time. Under Pressure is both a mafia and sports romance story, and it fits in well with the rest of the series. The mafia aspects add to the story without overshadowing it. This was a great read. Anabelle has had a lot to deal with, but she finds happiness with Declan. He is a very sweet character and offers her all that she's ever wanted, even if she didn't know that was what she was looking for.
Sebastian (or Bash, as he’s known to his friends) is the quietest of the Kings of Kroydon. He’s always had an air of mystery to him, and in Under Pressure we find out exactly how much mystery there is. His father is the head of the Philadelphia Mafia, and with that comes expectations for Sebastian and how his life is to be lived - sometimes without his own freedom. If you read any duet this year, read this one! Make sure to have your trusted vibe and tissues on hand though. For very different reasons. *winks* Coop and Carys have been staples in each other’s lives for a while and with one event, it becomes a thing of permanency for them. But, the feelings that have tried to deny, fight and bury over the years have only intensified. Heartbreakingly beautiful this story brings together hard subjects, provides real insight into the life of a sister turned guardian and casts a light on what it could be like to be a professional ball player who loves the sport but not the limelight
I absolutely loved the chemistry between the main characters is scorching hot. We get brothers best friend trope, mixed with some stepbrother trope, which made this one a easy read for me. Listen if you expect Mrs. Matthews to give you a heads up on how this book goes know that she won't. She wouldn't even give me a hint. Bella Matthews took off running, pulled off some spin moves, and scored a thrilling 'touchdown' with More Than A Game. Brady is the football god of his high school; he has his dream and he is determined to get there but when this tiny little dancer comes into his life, he will stop at nothing to make sure she is part of that future he wants; even if it means going up against his best mate.
The same went for Lenny, even though she was tested time and time again when it came to her love, strength, trust and belief for Bash. I loved that she never gave up either, even when she was hanging by a thread. Her determination always pushed her through in holding on. Making her well worthy of Bash and his love. Natalie has just moved to town to live with her twin and her father; she has decided that it is time to do what she loves and put herself first, even if that means disappointing her very driven father. Declan and Annabelle are seriously what couple goals are all about. My expectations going in AENG were very high because as you know Murphy is my number one man and has been since book one but let me tell you Bella completely blew my expectations to hell!!! This story was sooo much more than I could have ever imagined. Declan surprised me so much that man knew what he wanted and there was anything going to stand in his way of him getting his girl and the life he has always wanted. Annabelle really had to grow up fast and has had something tragic happened in her life and wasn’t sure she could ever open up her heart but Declan slowly opened her beautiful heart to all the amazing possibilities.. Complete swoon!!! These two melted my heart. Their chemistry is HOT AF like **fans self* there is also some great twists and turns that I actually didn’t see coming and some surprise moments!!! I love smart, strong, independent women, and Sabrina more than fits that bill. She's a sarcastic overachiever who is poised to be a political kingmaker. She's been half in love with Murphy for six years, but she made sure that he would treat her right when they got together. The story is fast-paced yet I believe it's a perfect story for Declan and Belle. Their love is instant but everlasting. I love that I can still see the previous couples and I love to see everybody so happy.
