About this deal

The side characters truly stole the show of the book though. I couldn’t get enough of the quiet reserved speaks only when he feels like it Aidan, and of course the BFF to Astrid - Dan. Such an enigma and I’m hoping to find out more of their stories later on. He has weird hair that’s neither dark nor light, as if it couldn’t make up its mind on which color to be, so it settled on a mixture of both. Like the color of the earth under the sun and the tone of premium wood.

With a lot of side characters. And though we don’t see as much of them as we do of Astrid and Levi–and we don’t get their point of view–they all have their own agenda that doesn’t revolve around the main couple, and it was interesting. I wanted to know more about Astrid’s father, about her best friend, about the rest of the football team. They aren’t just here to move the romance forward. Even though some of them were really of the villain-y kind, with little to no nuance. Why?” Her question is a haunted whisper as she closes her hand into a fist and hits me with it across the chest. I’m disoriented by the time his thumb wipes beneath my eye. Then he rubs them, his thumb and my tears, against his forefinger. But it’s not the gesture that makes me pause. It’s the fascination in his gaze, the way he looks like a researcher who just made a discovery. The way his green eyes hold the calm of Buddha, the wisdom of Confucius, and the kindness of Mother Theresa. She spends her private days in London laughing like an evil mastermind about adding mayhem to her expanding universe. When she's not writing, Rina travels, hikes, and spoils cats in a pure Cat Lady fashion.

Your opinion on the location of my sexual encounters ranks with the importance of the Queen of England's involvement in national affairs, Danny. Gotta admit that Nicole's story was very touching. There's just something about a person feeling like they're invisible that tears at my heartstrings. In all honesty, all of us could relate to having the same sensation of abandonment at some point in our lives. Well, the moment of scorching chemistry between me and Rina Kent's work just never happened ( I gave 3 stars to 12 books of hers💫💀) All the other characters apart from Daniel were a joy. Oh no wait that's a lie, Astrid was in this book. For those who don't know Astrid is the heroine of Cruel King, a book I rather aggressively dnfed😬. I am rethinking my decision now tho, I wouldn't be opposed to finishing it just to see Nicole bully the living shit out of Astrid. She's known to write unapologetic anti-heroes and villains because she often fell in love with men no one roots for. Her books are sprinkled with a touch of darkness, a pinch of angst, and an unhealthy dose of intensity. Astrid has me rolling in the beginning laughing so hard because of her antics. I truly enjoyed her as an FMC. She didn’t pretend or make it seem like she was this bad 🍑 bish. Sometimes she truly was scared for herself and for what she felt for Levi and the things that were going on in her life. Before riding off into the sunset, I'd also like to comment on the topic of Double Standars that has been actively and animatedly (🤡😂) discussed by many readers of this book.

The audacity to think that readers are entitled to dictate what characters authors can or can't write about! 😂 Lend me some of this delusion. 🙏🏻 This is how it went for 99.9% of the story. Nicole existing and Daniel taking it all out of context. He was too stupid to comprehend anything that happened around him. Worst part is I can't even hate him. If you shake Daniel's head it would sound like a spray can, and how can you hate a person with nothing but air in his skull without feeing guilty? His brainless shell of a body just existed in his own little world, bless his heart. My taste in fictional men is truly legendary too, and while Daniel isn't the type I'd normally fall for, I enjoyed his primitive thought process and clueless personality. 🥺 Daniels manwhorish ways in the past didn't bother me, he didn't have sex with OW after he sleeps with Nicole however there are 2 moments: The issue I have with most of miss Kent's books amounts to them being entertaining enough to keep my attention and easy to digest, but at the same time failing miserably to elicit any real emotion from me.The said celibacy was of her personal choice. The choice that was neither glorified nor condemned by anyone in this story. The conscious decision of an adult woman. Do I recommend this book to anyone? probably not no. I think this will only be enjoyable if you are a RK fan because you really have to be immersed in her universe and characters to truly appreciate every detail. Just like EOS, this book has lots of cameos, and you'd probably be confused if you read this first. However, if you want to know the tea/drama surrounding the book and are intrigued by what's so polarising about Nicole I say go ahead and read this because only you can judge how you feel.
