About this deal

Not all decking oils may be suitable for exotic hardwood decking such as Iroko, Balau, Massaranduba, Teak and Cumaru because of their oily character and dense grain. Greyed and weathered wood can be refreshed with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying Osmo Decking Oils. Original timber was Tassie Oak, and the new is Vic Ash, as you can see there is only a slight variation in the final product. I moved away from traditional varnish style finishes on some external hardwood stairs four years ago. They are designed to be used as a top-coat over an existing clear or coloured decking oil once it has dried, to provide an anti-slip or slip resistant finish.

You may find that it this time of year you may get away with minimal fading as we go through the winter. A range of decking oil formulations and brands are available, so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Especially developed so that it can be easily applied, even on vertical areas as it has a special non-drip formula. This helps to prevent water ingress that can lead to mould and algae, which in turn can become slippery and promote wood rot.So I shook and stirred the next can properly, but that then looked different from the area done with the first can. This timber deck oil consists of 95% naturally-derived raw ingredients made from renewable resources.

Some oils can be applied with a brush, roller, or even a garden sprayer, making the process a breeze. The clear decking oil is the most recommended for this type of wood, however it does not have UV filters and will allow the wood to silver naturally, a coloured option will help to prevent this, even the lightest of colours will filter UV and slow down the silvering. For quick and easy application, we recommend using the Osmo Floor Brush with the Osmo Telescopic Handle.Osmo Teak-Oil 007 is a clear decking oil finish and therefore offers only little protection against UV radiation (greying).

Intergrain Nature’s Timber Oil is a fantastic option for anyone who wants a natural-looking semi-transparent finish. Osmo Anti-Slip Decking Oil is a solvent-based oil, providing long-lasting durability and protection for your deck.Offers up to twice the resistance of standard oils with excellent water repellent properties and rainproof in just 90 minutes. Liberon Decking Oil is a top-notch solvent-based decking oil that provides excellent protection and nourishment for your wooden deck. If the third coat is absorbed by the deck and dries normally, it is probably OK to apply a thin third coat.

Hi Ben,Just wanted to thankyou for your help and advice in our selection of the Millboard Vintage Oak decking also in you recommending Grant from Premier Hardwood Decking. Compatibility: This wood treatment is compatible with both hardwood and softwood decking, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of wood types. This weatherproofing oil protects timber from the elements and provides deep penetrating and long-lasting performance. Its worth going that extra mile with your decking and putting a preserver on first followed by a couple of coats of the Decking Oil.

It implements a deep penetrating oil formula that’s great for timber decking and can even be used on garden furniture. This means that decked areas will naturally grey over time, albeit at a much slower rate than decking treated with a non-UV resistant decking treatment. Ronseal Ultimate Protection Decking Oil is a top-quality water-based oil, offering the benefits of both a quick drying time and an eco-friendly choice. Osmo Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430 can be used as the second coat after any of the coloured Decking Oils to provide a slip resistant surface. If you're looking to spruce up your garden and transform your outdoor space, you've come to the right place!
