Modern Star Wars media doesn’t always get legacy characters right, but it’s hard to argue against how Respsawn’s Jedi games have effectively used Vader and respected the things that made the character feel special in the first place. Jedi Survivor’s Boba Fett Cameo Explained Star Wars fans are eating well this year. The hotly anticipated third season of Disney+ series The Mandalorian is set to drop in March, and a brand-new Star Wars video game will follow closely behind. The trailer also indicates that the crew of the Stinger Mantis are separated, at least towards the beginning of the game, with Cal operating on his own. Merrin, Greez and Cere all are confirmed to appear in the sequel, but it’s clearly been a long time since they last saw each other judging by the way Greez and Cal are shown briefly embracing. BD-1, Cal’s trusty little droid companion, is also returning of course.
Fett’s cameo is a classic cameo in the sense that it’s rather brief and not crucial to the plot (at least at this time). However, it’s a great scene that may eventually set up something more important for Fett in a future game. Perhaps we can look forward to some answers about the Jedi we saw trapped in an amber-like substance in Fortress Inquisitorius? Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will exclusively be released on current-gen consoles and PC. That means players will only be able to play Cal’s follow-up adventure on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This marks a huge difference when compared to the last game, which initially launched on last-gen PlayStation and Xbox platforms before receiving a patch providing an improved resolution and framerate on current-gen systems seven months later.

Cal is clearly no match for Vader at that point. Vader toys with him more than he fights him. However, Cere Junda does eventually pop up and actually manages to stand toe-to-toe with Vader long enough to allow Cal to escape an almost certain death.
Such additions should make this follow-up Jedi adventure feel much more personal, by comparison. There’s a generous number of colourways included for both BD-1 and Cal too – though the exact amount is not known. Lightsaber customisation options also return with hilts, blade colours, switches and more all tweakable to a far larger degree. We've been hearing rumblings that might be the case for a while now, and the expectation is a release date will also be officially announced. It’s difficult to say if the Survivor team took those specific words to heart, but the results are the same. In Survivor, Fett’s presence is immediately felt through the reactions of those around him. The relatively few words he has to say all serve a clear purpose and only enhance his already considerable aura. When Fett does act, we’re left with no doubt as to why everyone seems so intimidated by him. Even Cal doesn’t seem entirely sure he would survive the fight against Fett if it came down to that. With much deeper character customisation for Cal, you can tweak everything from facial hair options to different layers of clothing. New emitter, switch, grip and pommel variations are available for your lightsaber, and even change out colors and parts for everyone's favorite droid companion, BD-1."
