They should try to assist those who stand in need of their help and guide foreigners who have lost their way. This weighty inheritance is a boon to be consulted with great respect, not a bane bearing the trappings of times of old, which some would consider as unbefitting of modern-day thought patterns.The visitor is also the beneficiary of this act which is a gesture of reverence for the visited one. If the prayers commence while one is in the middle of a ziyārah, it is preferable for the pilgrims to discontinue the ziyārah and join the prayers, it being undesirable to put off the prayer. In the chapter on the ziyārah of Imam al-Ḥusayn ( ‘a), we will mention the etiquette to be observed for the ziyārah of that Imam.
