On Water Island, it says "Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-tastic! Wub-Wub-Wub-ta-ta-ta-ta-tastic! Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-tastic. Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub-Wub- Error.” (Matthew Stewart) In the Book of Monsters, the Discovery Screen, and the Memory Game, Rare Wubbox yells "Error!" in a distorted way. This is a snippet of its Gold Island part. After a Wubbox is placed on an island, a new "Box It" menu option will appear for all Monsters on the island. This can be seen when first placing a Monster from the Nursery, or when selecting a Monster from your Island. This menu option will appear for Monsters that cannot be boxed, or are no longer needed. Trying to box a Monster that isn't needed will not box the Monster and result in a popup message stating "This Monster type is not required!". In 2016, Wubbox designed and created the Wublins and Wublin Island. The Wublins were created out of some sort of stone and brought to life via The Spark of Life. The rest of the Monster World discovered Wublin Island in March of 2016 through Blabbit's Scroll, which revealed a map of the island. Wubbox continued to create new Wublins until July 2017, until Wubbox joined the island's song itself in August. Before the Wubbox joined Wublin Island, the creator of the Wublins was a mystery.
On Ethereal Island, it says “File.. Not.. Found… Fi-Fi-Fi-Fi-Fi-Fi-File no-no-no-not.. Found.. Fo-Fo-Fo-Fo-... Found." (Sarah Parsons) Wubbox only appears on islands with a song speed of 140 beats per minute. The only exception to this guideline is Wublin Island. This is most likely to ensure that its quiet idle sound plays in sync with the song of the island it is on.On Wublin Island, Wubbox formerly costed 5,000 . However, on April 5th, 2023, its price was raised to 75,000,000 , just like every other Wubbox that costs Coins. The sell price of Wubbox increases with each additional Monster boxed, although not exactly by an amount equal to the sell price of the boxed monster. It is possible to have an inactive Common Wubbox and Rare Wubbox at the same time. This does not conflict each other as they do not require the same monsters - the Common Wubbox requires common Natural Monsters while Rare Wubbox requires Natural Rare Monsters.
Once the player hatches a Wubbox, they immediately receive a goal for placing Monsters inside of it. As these and other mysteries continue to tantalize, the Wubbox enthusiastically sings and dances alongside its Ethereal friends, and even produces Shards too! On January 3rd, 2017, Rare Wubbox was added to the StarShop on Water Island and Earth Island. Rare Wubbox was also fixed for people who had Rare Wubbox before it was officially added to the StarShop, which was unofficially released on December 23rd, 2016. Before version 3.9.3, on Water Island and Earth Island, the disc on Rare Wubbox's chest didn't move when it sang its song. On Ethereal Island, the disc moves periodically.The robotic chirps and whistles it uses to express itself can take some getting used to, but eventually become a beloved and inextricable part of the island's tune. Besides, it's all the rage in 'current' music. Similar to on Plant Island, Epic Wubbox makes percussive noises, but on this island, it makes a chime/jingle bell sound. It also plays a timpani drum, and its synth growls stay the same. It also makes a whooshing sound, that sounds similar to a car engine starting up; but failing to do so due to being in the cold for so long. Rare Wubbox on Ethereal Island is the most expensive Wubbox variant to fill with Diamonds from scratch, costing 18,000 Diamonds. Epic Wubbox is the second monster whose model extends beyond its box in the Store and Fabled Book of Monsters, the first being Epic Dandidoo. This is only true after activation, however, with the exception of Plant Island and Air Island's variants.
