About this deal

Apart from the poor quality sound of picture discs, it’s in flawed condition (VG doesn’t really mean “very good” does it? This is a prime example of where the CD is a better sounding and more complete version of this album. Deska představuje návrat k introspektivnímu a temnému gotickému rockovému stylu, který kapela zavedla na počátku 80. As he neared the age of 30, vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith had felt an increased pressure to follow up on the band's pop successes with a more enduring work. Roger O'Donnell's keyboards add both extra shade and melody, while Smith's singing is intentionally delivered in a combination of cutting clarity and low resignation, at times further distorted with extra vocal treatments. Smith deliberately sought to record an album that was depressing, as it was a reflection of the despondency he felt at the time. The band recorded the album at Hookend Recording Studios in Checkendon, Oxfordshire, with co-producer David M.Early) Cure are my favourite band and have all first pressings up to KM KM KM, but for this record I actually would be OK with a Reissue. This is the Allied Record Company pressing as indicated by the A visibly embossed in the middle of the A side pressing ring, and SP-AR etched in the runouts.
