About this deal

Veggiemesh will protect your crops against cabbage root fly, carrot fly, cabbage white butterfly, pea moth, leek moth, cutworm, onion fly, leaf minors and many other insect pests. Veggiemesh will also protect against birds, rabbits, wind and hail. Veggiemesh® is light enough so it can be laid directly over your crops but also works perfectly over any garden hoops and garden cages.

Vegetables may be covered all the year round, from planting right up until harvest. If you are growing fruit, just lift the netting during flowering if the crop depends on pollination by bees. We add a sweep and handle to all 4 corners of our seine nets. Subsequently, this makes them easy to attach to a bridle or can be used by hand. The sweeps make longer nets that may get heavy as they are being maneuvered much easier to use. Cover cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, turnips, swedes, radish, carrot, parsnip, celery, spinach, parsley, onions, leeks, peas, lettuce and all types of oriental vegetables. Strawberries, raspberries and currants Ideal for protection against; cabbage Root Fly, carrot Fly, White Fly, Onion Fly, flea Beetle, vine Weevil and aphids and others, also bees, wasps, Cutworm and other caterpillars, moths and butterflies. I leave it on all the time on the carrots and cabbages. At this stage, I can't imagine how I would grow brassicas with out it.Veggiemesh 'Ultra-Fine' may be secured by burying the edges, weighing down with 'sand bags' or with Tri-Pegs. Veggiemesh® will keep out a wide range of garden pests including cabbage root fly, carrot fly, cabbage white butterfly, pea moth, leek moth, cutworm, onion fly, leaf miners and many species of aphids. If you have flea beetle or whitefly you may need to Veggiemesh® Ultrafine as the holes are smaller. While the adults will not do any damage do vegetables, like cabbages. The larvae of the cabbage white butterfly will feed and damage plants. If left unprotected the cabbage white butterfly can destroy entire brassica yields. Aside from removing the eggs by hand, which can be difficult to spot, the best way to prevent cabbage white butterflies from laying eggs on your cabbages is to protect them with Veggiemesh®.

The cheapest types of bird netting tend to be in smaller sizes, and need to be stretched to reach their full size. There are many stronger and more durable types of bird netting available, which also have the advantage of being easier to use. I bought it to save my carrots from the carrot root fly then realised it should work on my brassicas too so bought a second one as well. Works perfectly, no pest issues on these crops at all this year. The material seems to be of a very good quality, strong and durable. Highly recommended, will definitely buy more later on. Veggiemesh 'Ultra Fine' is a very fine mesh netting woven from u.v. stabilised polyethylene. The mesh size is 0.8 x 0.8mm. The netting is very durable with a life expectancy of at least for several years. Once you have seined the length of your water you can use our Dip Nets and Fish Cages to retrieve and hold your fish.Your Seine net should be 1½ times longer than the width of your water way. As a result, you will create a wide arch with the net when corralling the fish. The netting is lightweight and can be suspended on a structure of garden canes or hoops. If using canes, it is worth protecting the caps that touch the net to ensure that these do not damage the mesh.
